Camping for the North East Rally

Well, Beantown pulled in today and he is staying at ..........

..

..

..

Crazy Creek!! Apparently, the owner has had the campground open all summer but just hasn't told anyone about it.

Shane wanted me to post that he and Linda would be staying there as there is a lot more elbow room for campers and a bonfire at Crazy Creek. The owner just put up an open sign in the past week (it wasn't there a week ago when I went by!), although the store is still closed.

Re: Camping for the North East Rally

Well that's nice to know. Ask him if he will be at Stony Creek at the end of the week. In my message about where people will be staying with the poll he said he already made his reservation at Stony Creek. I have a reservation for Stony Creek also.

I had thought that they were going to be closed this Summer for reasons unknown. Perhaps they did not want our group there this year . Would be nice to know. Also how did he get to stay there if the store was closed across the street?. Even the website is down for Crazycreek. Try here I found this address through google.

Now who am I going to get to back me into my campsite .

Oh well. When you see him tell him I said hello.

Re: Camping for the North East Rally

Doc,

Check you PM's. As far as anyone knew, Crazy Creek was closed. We even checked with Ginny who is working at 1000 Acres this summer. Jiles is apparently keeping the campground and only the store is for sale. He has a campground host who is collecting fees and taking care of the place for him. As of this morning, there was only Shane & Linda and the campground host camping there so I don't think you'll have to worry about making reservations.

Shane just wanted me to inform everyone of where he was staying, that there was more than enough room for everyone and that he plans on having the nightly bonfires at Crazy Creek.

Re: Camping for the North East Rally

And no, he won't be moving over to Stony Creek Campground. He's going to be staying there. Less people.

Re: Camping for the North East Rally

Doc,

How long did it take you to make the run up there from Middletown? It looks like I'm going Sat. morning.

Re: Camping for the North East Rally

I forget the exact time it took last year but recently I have been going north of Lake George up to North Hudson. That is exit 29 off of 87 North way. Towing it has taken me between 5-6 hours depending on how often I stop.

Re: Camping for the North East Rally

Thanks Rich, I guess the coordinates can't get any better than that . I'll have to input them into my Delorme street atlas software.
