Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

Just letting everybody know there will be a diesel drag day event at No Problem Raceway in Donaldsonville, LA. The event is Friday, April 15th. Gates open at 5, trials start at 6. $15 entry.

They have a really nice facility over there.

Donaldsonville is about 30 minutes from New Orleans.

All I can say is it's about time and count me in on being there.

They had the "import" shootout last weekend, but I heard it rained on their parade all day.

"They had the "import" shootout last weekend, but I heard it rained on their parade all day."

They should've made some real fun and combined the two! Probably not enough of us around here for that though.

Where 'bouts LA are you from? I'm in Slidell.

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

I was just thinking about how there probably won't be alot of people there.

I agree it would of been nice to have it at the same time, then we could of really shocked some imports.

I am in New Iberia. 20 Minutes south of Lafayette.

When I was much younger, my dad played softball for Tabasco and we were in Slidell alot for tournaments.

You wouldn't happen to be oilfield trash like me would you? We service the lifeboats for a lot of different platforms in the Gulf.

I'm a 3D CAD drafter for Hanover. I'm sure you've heard of us or seen some of our equipment. I draw production equipment (separators, line heater, vent scrubbers, etc.) for the oilfield, so unfortunately I'm in that industry. Cool, I'll look for your truck. I'm bringing both of mine, and two other buddies are bringing theirs(one is a Dodge ).

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

Does anyone know if this is the Gerhardts diesel deal? I talked to the owner about this at the last dyno day and he said they were trying to set it up.

I hope more trucks show up, there are a ton of diesels down here, but they dont get together for nothing!

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

Yes Daryl, their calendar shows it is sponsored by Gerhardt Performance.
They also they have a Ford Fun Weekend on April 1-3! It figures, I work shift work and both of those weekends are mine to work! Guess I have to burn a couple of vacation days!
Here's the link to their calendar

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

sweet!

I wonder how much that big front grille guard of yours is gonna slow my truck down. Never raced with it on before.

Eh, 4 bolts and two jackstands and I can take it off by myself

You doing both events? or just the diesel one?

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

I'm putting my BD torque converter and spring/valve kit in Mon. or Tue. so I may go make a few practice runs at Gulfport Wednesday so I'll be ready! Hopefully I'll be able to get my fuel system from DI before then also (along with a new program).

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

Ford Forgotton,

Who do you deal with at Gerhardt's? Last time I was over there I asked what kind of injectors and turbos they sell and the guy said they don't really sell injectors but they sell a Bank's turbo. I asked him if he meant an actual turbo or just the exhaust housing and he corrected himself to just the housing. I found that very odd for a diesel performance shop (especially since they sell tons of injectors and turbos in their shop right next to the performance center)! It's also the same guy who sold me the wrong intake system for my '99 twice.

But there's another guy I talk to on the phone sometimes and he seems pretty knowledgeable, but I keep forgetting to ask his name.

Re: Diesel Drag Day in Louisiana

I would like to make both events, but I am definitely making the Diesel one! I'm having a boost issue with my truck right now, can't get over 18#'s of boost with the programmer set in performance mode. I used to get up to 23#'s at WOT. I think it is a boot problem, did the CCV mod and cleaned up the boots but still no luck. New boots and T-clamps came in today but I haven't installed them yet, got my fingers crossed this is the problem. If I haven't figured out my problem I will just be another spectator.

How bout you? making both events?
