Oooo, this is cool, I go away for a minute and there is a new forum.I really think that us getting together will help everyone, create new friendships, and possibly help us get things worked out with ford when we have problems. basically the non-cyber version of this site. Neat.

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

Howdy whd507... I know it will be easy to get a bunch together there in No. Cal, but I was just wondering, Is it possible to find a location in Oregon that would accomodate you fellas, Oregon, Washington and have a huge rally? I'm trying to do a Rally Northwest and It would be great if we could do it together...What do ya think?

whd507

No California sounds like a winner to me. I for sure would go. There are a ba-zillion of these PSDs around here. I know a few folks (not Ford-Diesel members) who would go.

Keep putting it out there, and maybe something will come up.

If I can help. Let me know!

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

yeah, we could go off-roading in the giant mud-hole the city made last year (and left)

well, how about really northern california, like clearlake/Ft. bragg ? that would be closer for the northerners, and still only a couple of hours away for the bay-area and sac-a-tomatoes.
I believe there was one in fresno last year, but I had to work

lets knock it around a little.

mark, do you have a replacement truck yet?

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

Dean and fenceman:

I second McBean park EVEN THOUGH I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE 25 MILES TO GET THERE
I used to go up there for the annual Portuguese picnic with my ex. Great location. How do you go about putting one of these things together?
Do you just go to a park, put up a banner and hang out? What about vendors, food and refreshment, sponsorships?
Just a few things to consider, whatever I can do to make this happen, would like to help.

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

What happened to McBean? Used to be a great place. If thats no good, I would say somewhere around Lake Shasta or McCloud, maybe we could get the northwest rally people altogether with us, somewhere up the I-5 corridor would probably be best.

Oh, by the way, are us guys with the old trucks welcome, or will this be just a PSD thing?

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

I would love a north western rally. Northern California would be good. Another good place would be Reno. Maybe the same time as Hot August Nights. It would be crowded with all the classic cars and stuff in town, but is would be a lot of fun.

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

Oooo yeah RENO that would be cool, but just before, or just after hot august nights. (avoid possible problems, but still attend if you want) Mc Bean park is OK, but I would have a easier time getting the Placer county fairgrounds or fairgrounds in auburn.

lets keep this up, more ideas!!

Let's do it!! A No. Cal rally sounds great.
Somewhere around Sacramento sounds good. How about Cal-Expo? Would they let something like this happen there?

No truck yet Dean,im still kicking around the options......was on an estimate the other day and came across a 1972 Chevy shortbox 4x4,a/t.ps,pb,ORIGINAL owner, with a new motor too!Looks real enticing, especially when you pop the hood!No computer and no smog, truck doesnt have a dent on it,winch on front bumper and winch in back of bed,(guy was a elk hunter)Anyways how about a rally near the water!River or lake i dont care....lets dont forget 100 degrees aint far away for us nor cal boys....im game,do i have to drive one of my flat-bed diesels? lol.lemme know.Mark.

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!

How about camp far west or folsom lake?
camp far west has dozens of camp sites,(w/ full hookups) but I will have to check availability. I was thinking about the fairgrounds in roseville also, but the water sounds good. There is a good place on the american river between foresthill and auburn that would be a good place for trucks-only small day-event also.(kinda rough trail/road)
I will call Camp Far West this week to see when they are not booked up.
