Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
I was there right after you! the others looked good, but that lady in the booth let me drive through for free and took time to look through the resevation book to see what she had available. the others were indifferent to my requests.the spots were on the left when you come in, and are a short walk up from the store. she would juggle the spaces to keep us all together as best possible. each spot is supposed to have a picnic table and a fire pit/grille.
and we could get the upper of the two parking lots if we work it right.yeah the weather was nice. she said it is nice up there in august. (if that is when we do it)
Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Then lets do it, spaces looked good to me, we have someone who will work with us, my main concern was the lack of picnic tables, other than that the place looks like a great place to hold a rally. The nice thing is that particular campground has the easiest access from 80, the others are on the other side of the lake.
Since I am local (only 45 miles), I won't be needing a campsite, I will just pay the day use fee, but I would encourage us to lock down a date, the 3rd weekend in August is fine with me.
I am all for it, now how about the rest of you guys?
Hey Jason, you said you planned to try to make some of the other rallies, How about it? Lets put some miles on the new PSD, coming from VA, you would definitely be in the running for the longest distance award!!

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Hi Guys!
I've been watching this for a bit, and my wife and I want to go to a rally. We were watching the one for the Northwest, but they have settled on CDL, Idaho, and that is too far for us at the time they have set at the end of July. That is just before Hot August Nights starts(July 31-August 6th).She is an LEO for Reno, Nevada Police Dept., and all vacations are cancelled for that time.
So what I am trying to say is Rollins Lake would be great for us, and the latter part of August.
Of course I'm only speaking for ourselves, but want to put in our vote.
Last week of July, and first week of August it will be a madhouse up here, and the last week of July is when Carson City holds there classic car get together. This are would definently be a place to stay away from.Too many people, and no place to hold it that is not already taken.
Anyway hope that is what you come up with, as my wife and I are looking forward to going to our first PSD ralley.
Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Excellent!! I am going to start trying to see if I can get any sponsors (for door prizes,plaques,ect...) I am getting excited, we might just pull this off yet
if anyone out there wants to come and show off your goods just E-mail me or jake (or just post it here) and look at the website for the campground to see what we are all talking about. www.longravineresort.com
I hope the 18th-20th of august is good for everyone.
keep the comments coming and be sure to call the campground for resevations and be sure to tell them you are part of the ford-diesel group.(530)346-6166
Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Folks:
Could you kind of humor me here, lets make sure everyone knows that this is not a PSD rally, but a Ford Diesel rally. Otherwise, I guess I'll just be sitting over in the corner all by myself, probably playing my "Lonely Guy" tape.

I have been calling it the "northern california Ford-diesel(.com) rally" I think that is inclusive. heck by august I might be driving this 91 7.3 crewcab I have been eyeing.
Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Hey Guys!
First off I want to thank you for do all the foot-work and hustle to make this thing happen. I will be comming up from Modesto so What is the best way to get to Rollin's Lake and do I need to make reservations for a day spot or overnight. Can I bother you for a phone #? Sounds great and I really hope to be there. If there are others from the Modesto area that want to convoy up there that would be way cool.

just in case we run out of camp spaces at the lake there are lots of motels in auburn.
I hope we dont have to resort to this, but we haveno idea how many are coming, so we based it on how many came to the others.
be sure to call the resort for resevations. see you there!!!

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Long Ravine Campground at Rollins lake is located just east of Colfax on I-80 about 50 miles east of Sacramento. The easiest way to get there is to take I-80 east to the Rollins Lake -Secret Town exit just east of Colfax. Follow it back over the freeway, go west about a mile or so, the campground entrance will be on your right.
Call the resort, make your reservations and hope to see you there. whd507 posted the phone numbers earlier.
Hey Dean, what do you think, should we make this official?

Re: everyone else has one... we need a No. Cal rally!
Yup. judging from my inbox I better start looking for stuff. there are name badges,food,plaques,trophies,first-aid kit ,then I better start harrassing the local truck-goodies places, and any other place I can think of for sponsorships.
I guess what I am saying we will need to hear from everyone who is planning to come,
and we will need names,year/model of truck,hometown,(long-distance award)T-shirt size(s) number of guests, number of kids/ages(for kids gifts),whether or not you have reserved a spot at the campsite,(if you intend to stay over)whether or not you need any special assistance or (?),suggestions for the menu, and anything else (we) think of in the next few days if you have any suggestions NOW is the time to bring it up.Remember to bring your fishing supplies. Jake and I will be brainstorming soon.
