Houston - HAPS Darrell Russell Memorial Car/Truck Show & Shine Fund Raiser - Diesel Forum

April 2nd – Saturday – HAPS April Event
(Note this is the first weekend in April)

HAPS has been invited to participate in a fund raiser for the Darrell Russell Memorial Fund by entering/attending/supporting the Darrell Russell Memorial CAR/TRUCK SHOW. Darrell was the NHRA Top Fuel Drag Racer that was killing in St. Louis last June in a racing accident. Darrell, his family and race team are from the Hockley/Waller area in NW Harris County. Everyone knows that HAPS through-out the years participates in a number of fund raisers for good causes. In the past we’ve participated in a number of charity car/truck shows, church functions, supported our troops around the world, as well as the Toys for TOTS program every December.

All proceeds raised (Entry fees, Donations, Ect.) go to the Darrell Russell Memorial Fund.

This is a family event. A dragster will be on site so the kids can have pictures taken while in the driver’s seat. Bring your own camera and lawn chairs. Live music will be provided. Darrell’s wife (Julie) and family will be present. The promoters are working on getting Darrell’s race team, car and transporter to attend. Darrell drove for Joe Amato Racing when the accident occurred.

Directions:
Going NW (toward Austin) on Hwy. 290. About 18-19 miles past FM 1960,
Exit FM 2920. Turn LEFT on to FM 2920. The parking lot will be on the RIGHT after a ¼ mile.

[img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Is there an entry fee? Hey mark we could meet up and drive up together since you come up this way already if ya want to.

how about that, I get to goto a HAPS meet! One of my best friends is getting married at 3, so im sure i can be out by 6 or so. I will make it over to see everyone and hang out.
