Houston - Results HAPS & LSTDR Vendor Day and Pictures
The final vendor count was 27. Everyone put up with the early morning sprinkles and high 30's temperature's.
It was hard to tell the number of trucks and people. The first 4 hours the parking lot was packed as people came and left. To my best estimate, I figured nearly 300 trucks and over 500 people passed through. It was a great day for HAPS, LSTDR and the vendors.
I hardly know where to start to thanking people that made this all come together. But I am going to try my best.
First - I'll start with Robert Dee (BubbaD), he has spent the last 5 weeks knocking on a lot of doors.
Then lets add Bay Area Accessories and all the other vendors and of course all the people that supported and attended this event. Thank you to the NTxPSA, CTFD and others for driving through the rain, sleet and snow to support such an event.
The pictures are posted HERE and on the LSTDR.org webpage.
This kind of event will happen again. HAPS has been contacted by 2 other outfits to put do it again.
Just wait and see what HAPS can do with 5-6 months of planning. Mark Sept. 13th on your calendar.

I'm going to edit this post and add to it. (Monday 10th 3PM)
With 5 weeks of work putting this event together and a ton of helpers on the day of the event working for about 12 hours.
All parking, admission, wealth of knowledge available and food was free. Everything was FREE, absolutely free.
NOW I just received a call that we had a THIEF among the 500+ of us.
It doesn't matter what it was or the value, but the fact is everyone put there time into this event to have it spoiled by a THIEF. The item will be paid by HAPS. I feel like HAPS parade just got rained on.
You Haps guys are just great...Hey I will come down out of the Hill country, OUT OF THE SNOW, to meet with you guys, You guys give such a warm welcome...EXCELLENT job guys (Bubba, Brad, David, Chris, Dale, Etc....If CTFD could be half as successful as Haps...I had a great time, talked to alot of people(friendly Texans)..Ate some good food and even saw some good things out there..Thanks for letting us be a part of this...Randy (On behalf of CTFD)...

You guys ain't seen nothing yet!!!!!!
This was my second HAPS meeting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I learn something every time I go. This time I learned that I didn't wear enough cloths!!!!
I showed an old friend around the HAPS meeting yesterday and he was amazed that I knew so many people there. (I do live 4 hrs to the North in Louisiana) That’s one of the cool things about HAPS. And I don’t know how may times I heard the phrase, “Just good people.” Keep up the good work guys!
And thanks to Herb for taking care of me while I was in town!
BTW: Where was the legendary Smokey?

Anyone with digital pictures please email them to me or burn a cd and drop them by over the next few days. Its very impotant that I try to get these up as soon as possible.
On a lighter note - I am wooped!!I really slept hard lst night after being outside all day yesterday. I don't know what David and I would have without the propane heater. maybe fill up on of the buckets with #2 and light it
We had a great time. Met more people than I can actually remember ( except Smokey - WHERE WERE YOU?!?! ) I speent some time with Clay, the GM for the shop and he was very please.
Anyone know when Ted got his truck out of the spray booth??

This was my first outing to HAPS after many repeated attempts by BubbaD to get me there. Thanks Bubba for keeping on me.
I met some great people and had a good time. I on the otherhand didn't sleep well last night after the outing. I was too darn bloated from the Mexican food afterwards!
Heck, even got my wife out for dinner!

Dale I, you must have a sore throat with as much talking you did. You hand must be really sore also, as many times you reached in it to either collect money or give change.
I'm gonna tell Darryl with the Magnafine Filters that you took all my sales. Every time someone walked up to me and I was explaining about the filters, they would looked at your booth next door and see all the people in there and I guess they thought they were missing out on something, because the next thing I noticed is they were over there talking to you, and the next thing I noticed is you reaching into your pocket.
I am glad you did well and hope to see you at the next one, because you definately won't want to miss it.
I left around 6, but they did not finish. I will have to bring it back. The boys and I really had a great time at the meeting. I didn't mean to win all the prizes. (Ooops, I lied!!)

A few of us were checking out the new trucks on display and one of the Dodge guys was trying to enlighten me as to why you can never really make a Powerstoke perform even close to a Cummins. And it was at that exact moment that Ted drove up in little red and every head there turned to watch.

Hey! Wait a minute! Where are you taking me and what am I doing in this handbasket?
I had a great time and would love to do it again. Thanks to all.
Does anybody know if Dale I ever got that JD coolant eye back, the one that 'walked off'??? That was real disapointing to hear about that. You'd think folks would give him a better reception that that.
Everyone,
Just wanted to say that I had a great time and so did the wife and little one! It was great getting to see some of yall again and getting to meet some of yall for the first time. Wife and I plan on being at other HAPS events and especially at the Sept vendor day. At that point, it will be wife, me, Ainsley (our little girl) and baby #2!! Anyhow, yall are a great group of people and I am looking forward to getting to see all of yall again VERY soon! I wanted to say hi to everyone that I got to talk to and meet, but that was too many people to list here (I am sure that no one wants to read it anyhow!!) so I will just say thanks to everyone! Hopefully some of yall can make it this way as we get CTFD/San Antonio up and running in the next few months.
