Northern New England Meet and Greet! CT MA RI NY NH VT ME Anyone?

The Date is August 30th which is the last Sunday of the month.

Very easy to get to, located within 5 minutes of I-91 which is most likely what most people will be taking. Im aiming for a start time around 12, noon. If you plan on arriving early let me know. Food will be served once a good number of people have showed up, if anyone wants to bring anything thats fine, just let me know. There will be steaks, chicken, wings, ribs, hot dogs, burgers and also plenty of other things such as salads, Pasta, and deserts. Sodas, beers, and waters will be available as well. There will be an "entrance fee" of $5 just to cover the cost of renting the pavillion, and all the supplys. Here are some basic directions for people:

From South:

Take exit 17 B off Route 91 (north).

Follow Route 141 West into Easthampton.

In business district, take left at 1st traffic light. (Williston Ave.).

Nashawannuck Pond will be on your left.

Follow Williston Ave. (past Easthampton High School) to end – road bears to right.

Nonotuck Park is first left.


From North:

Take exit 18 off Route 91 (south).

At exit, bear left towards Northampton.

At first intersection, (bowing alley + Days Inn motel on left), bear left onto Conz St.

Follow Conz Street to 1st traffic light.

Take left and go up hill, taking a left at next traffic light onto route 10 towards Easthampton.

You will go straight through first set of lights to end (rotary and gazebo in front on you).

Go straight to next set of lights, bear left (Route 141 East, towards Holyoke).

At 2nd traffic light, take Williston Ave. (adjacent to Nashawannuck Pond).

Follow Williston Ave. (past high school) to end – road bears to right.

Nonotuck Park is first left.

Just wanted to make sure everyone is still set on the date, and that everyone that said they will be attending will in fact be there! The Meet is this Sunday! 4 people from the site informed me today that they will not be able to make it, that means that everyone that comes will have to really try to get a few friends to come too!

Well had the meet today, turns out literally only 2 people from this forum showed up, and only a a couple from all the other sites, the others were just last minute local friends, that I called up so all the food didnt go to waste. Total Attendance was around 10-14 at its highest. With only about 5 of those people having trucks. Still had fun, but would have been better if more people had shown.

yea wasn't too bad overall but certainly would have been better if more showed up. Great weather for the day too. Food was definitely great, specially those wings.

Well, we are going to try to do this again next year....Im trying to think of ways to verify that more people show up....The best way it seems would be if everyone put a deposit down, or bought a ticket in advance, this way even if you dont show up, I wont be out a bunch of money....Im also thinking about pulling people from a few more forums....At first I was worried too many people would show up and it would be awfully expensive....Turns out my g/f has a few connections with local butchers (durr she used to work at one of them) so its really not too much $$$.

my 2cents is maybe try to get everybodys number next time so that you can get ahold of them to confirm everything.

Except that calling 50 people to confirm things a little bit annoying, and I dont thin it would really guarantee anything either. I received emails from people one day before the event saying they would be there, and still no shows.
