Power Stroke Diesel Crew club

International Engine Group started this club a few years ago as a sendoff for their sponsorship of a Ford truck racing in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park during the weekend of the NASCAR Brickyard 400 Cup race in July. No, the race truck doesn't have a PSD engine, but it is sponsored by "Power Stroke Diesel".

The Ford/Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana Super Duty (FOKISD) Club joined with International in hosting a PowerFest rally/get together for members of TheDieselStop. I made that first event, so I became a member of the Crew Club. FOKISD is still involved, and International is doing it again this year. One blurb on the linked websites says: "FOKISD (Ford Ohio Kentucky Indiana Super Duty club) will also be hosting a day of great events on Saturday, July 26 in conjunction with the rally."

The PSD race truck was originally #29, then it was #10, and now it will be #14 this year. Confusing. At one race at Texas Motor speedway, I yeahed for #29 all night, then found out at the end of the race that #10 was the PowerStroke truck.

Tune in to the Events and Rallies forum to keep up with more details about the 2008 Power Fest Rally hosted by FOKISD.

The International marketing folks still have my e-mail address, and today I received the following that might interest some of our members:

Dear CREW™ Club member:

I am writing you on behalf of the Navistar® Engine Group, who designs and manufactures your Ford Power Stroke Diesel. We also developed the CREW™ Club for owners and diesel fans such as you. Your Club has grown to over 18,000 members.

As you know there is no charge for becoming a CREW Club member and you can earn reward points that you can exchange for gifts that support your interest in the diesel lifestyle that reflects our motto: Power, Performance and Fun to Drive™. The CREW Club is continuing and we thank you for your support. However there are a few changes, new for 2008, we want to share with you. We have created a new www.PowerStrokeDieselStuff.com web site, with a new look, easy navigation and many enhancements that will make our community of diesel enthusiasts very pleased.

The new site has more technical information on the new 6.4 Liter Power Stroke Diesel, a Diesel Heritage section where you can learn more about the history of diesel and a Why Diesel section that will give your non diesel friends some compelling reasons to own a Power Stroke® by International®. We have also added a Diesel Hall of Fame where we honor the reliability and durability of our owners with high mileage trucks. A new feature is the video window where you will hear real owners talk about their trucks and Power Stroke Clubs. Check it out — you may see yourself. Finally for NASCAR fans, we will cover our Power Stroke Diesel by International Racing and our driver, Rick Crawford in the #14 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series which is aired on Speed Channel and Fox.

Please check out the site and share it with your friends.

As you can see we have much good news, and there is more. Navistar Engine Group, the designer and manufacturer of the Ford Power Stroke Diesel and other great brands will sponsor the "Power Stroke 200" with Ford Division Marketing support this year at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Ind., on July 26, 2008 as well as the 2008 National Power Fest Rally running from July 24-27th. Registration is now open at Power Fest National Rally. I'm looking forward to seeing you all at the event.

Please enjoy the new site and share it with your friends.

Best regards,

Bob Carso
Director, Marketing and Brand Strategy

Well, the big weekend is here, so I'll unstick this thread and let it go off into cyberland. But I hope folks that attended the Powerfest weekend will post their thoughts of the weekend.
