I think Maryland would be a good location for the next eastern rally, after the one in Kentucky next year. How about Maryland in 2002? I think we need to be carefull that we don't get all rally'd out. Once or twice a year is all I would probably be willing to do. The mountains of western maryland would be a great place. Perhaps Garrett county around Deep Creek lake. - Mel.

I think that Deep Creek or even Ocean City would be possible places. I am sure that picking a place will be easy. It will be the other logistics that will be complicated. I have become very aware of all the power stroke owners just in my area, and it is amazing. I guess we will wait and see. If anyone has any more ideas feel free to speak up.
I say the four of us should consider ourselves the 2002 Mid-East Rally organizers! David and Big O already have the experience, and Motor555 and I are centrally located to help. - Mel.

Sounds good to me! Lets keep the idea going, and see what we can come up with. I wish that there was a way to know the others on the forum that are in this area. It would be nice to even get a small group of folks together to swap stories, ideas, and some BBQ. Have a good Day!
Count me in! I missed the Virginny one. I'm only about 25 miles from Deep Creek.
Never been to Ocean City. Either site works for me. Though I think Deep Creek is prettier, cooler and less of a hassle to get to during the summer.
My $.02

I agree with Chet. Nothing against OC, it's just that if I take my family there, I won't be able to keep them "focused" on the rally, and it is likely to be more expensive and crowded. That is, unless Big O wants to put us all up at his place! Let's go ahead and decide where to hold the rally, and then we can pick a date and go from there. If you all like the Deep Creek idea, lets start researching campgrounds in the area, and try to pick the best one. I'm sure boat toating members of the rally will appreciate being out there, and perhaps we can get someone to put a new PSD in their Chapparal - Mel.

I agree, Deep Creek is a good Idea. I also agree with anyone that can get together for a day or weekend to come up with ideas. I am flexable in what ever anyone wants to do. We will have to come up with dates, as Deep Creek can be crazy in the fall, and the summer I guess is full of vacationers. I work with a guy that has a home up there. I will talk with him and find out info about the place. Keep the ideas flowing. P.S. She had to go to the shop today I hope they do not have to pull the motor.
I guess my concern with doing something this summer is that too many of these get togethers may detract from the specialness of them. For instance, if your inviting Ford people again, and there is 100 of these things a year, which one do you go to if your a Ford rep? You won't go to many of them thats for sure. Also, with one forming around the corner from where you live, your going to end up with a rally every month that is attended by a fewer number of people, thus decreasing the chance of meeting friends from far away places. I think its great that the idea is catching on, and that they are springing up all over the country, but we really need to get a handle on it before they turn into just a bunch of guys meeting at an abandoned drive-in theater on a Saturday afternoon. - Mel.

HI all
MEl thats why i said a just a getogther. We all need to understand that we cant expect to have all the vendors and ford and members show up for all of these things.Their is nothing wrong with all these rallies but it would be beter to have more gettogethers and only a few rallies a year.Everyone is going at this like the world going to stop at the end of the year.Thier is plenty of time to do more next year.just my 5cents
Dave, I understand what your saying. Seems like we need to get some classifications going. How about we start a thread on carving up the country into divisions, and we can have "regional meets" and "Division Rallies"? Maybe that would help set the expectation levels. Regions could have meets as often as they wish, and those who prefer to the big time weekend things could wait for their areas Rally. What do you think?
