I agree with your thoughts. I do think that if we keep up at this pace with rallies what will we have to look forward to? In my original post I wantedto know of any rallies. The idea of something in 2002 is good. I also wanted to know if anyone that was in the area wanted to do something on a smaller scale. More of a get together or pick a location for us to meet, and cook out. I had also thought of the idea of having Chapters. If each State or ares within a state had a chapter than that group could get together for functions. This may be a dumb thought. I wont be mad if you all want to blast me on this idea. There are a lot of us out here, and it would be nice to meet in person rather than through the screen. Hope you all have a good Holiday weekend!

OK. This was getting too far down the list, so I thought I'd better get it going again. We kind of got sidetracked with a thought that didn't take too well (the org thing), anyway - Big O, 2002 because there seemed to be enough events going on this summer, and I personally wouldn't be available to come or help, because I'm already booked this year. Of course that wouldn't preclude you guys from going ahead without me. I just thought we could do a better job if we planned it out right. If you've got a hankering to get together before then, how about a "meet" class event in PA at Lake Raystown. I'll be there for vacation in July at the Lake Raystown resort campgrounds. - Mel

David,
It would be July 16th to 21st. Thats a Sunday till Friday. Raystown doesn't allow people to check in or out on Saturday, hence the weird days. If you show up, you'll get a boat ride! - Mel.

Big Orange asked me a question in E-mail, and he said why wait until 2002? My response was that the Kentucky thing is supposed to be in 2001, and since we didn't know when that would be yet, I didn't want to plan something that would end up in conflict, or be comprimised by timing. If the Kentucky Rally planning were to get underway, we could re-think waiting. In my opionion anyway. - Mel.
Sorry gang. I haven't been around much lately, too much business travel. Let's keep it near the top of the list though, and I'll pitch in some more ideas when I've got some free time (hopefully next week) - Mel.

Getting on with the planning of this thing then... There is a big field in McHenry Maryland at the northwestern tip of Deep Creek lake. They hold the Garrett county fair there. Are any of you familiar with it, and do you think we should look into getting it as our gathering site? The fair grounds can be booked through a fellow named J.R. Glotfelty who can be reached at Glotfelty Tires. Appearantly this fellow is on the supervisors board. The Double G campground is located in McHenry so it shouldn't be too far away. (Double G Campground 301-387-5481 P.O. Box 25, 76 Double G Drive, McHenry, MD 21541
W/E/S/CATV; picnic tables, fire rings, bathhouse, laundry, game room, campstore, L.P. gas-- bottle or metered, 1/2 mile from Deep Creek Lake.) I got most of this info at http://www.garrettchamber.com . There is another campground at Swanton, which is away from the lake, which maybe wouldn't be as good a location. McHenry is closer to I-70 which would be the main artery for most attendees. Another site I found is http://www.deepcreektimes.com/ which has a lot of stuff on it. Terra server imagery for this area is sparse, but they do offer a topo map at http://terraserver.microsoft.com/ima...=1369&Z=17&W=2
I know there is a Ford dealer in Terra Alta WV that we might be able to interest in attending, as well as one in Cumberland. There is probably one in Oakland too. I guess thats enough to chew on for now. What do you guys think? - Mel.
I am still here! I did see your last post's and I am good with the area. Anyplace up there would be great. I was thinking that there would have been more interest from the good folks in MD. I cant go 2 miles around here without seeing a Pstroke. I want to get together for some kind of event. I dont care if there is 3 trucks or 103. I would also like to start up some type of club. I, like most of us have been busy with the family, and all of the other summer activities. I do keep up with the topic even though I am not allways posting. I am here so keep in touch.
OK Motor, I think everyone is busy, as the number and quantity of posts seems to have dropped off in general since the end of June. I guess we need David and the others to chime in when they get a chance. I was just trying to keep the topic on the first page. I'm going on vacation next week, so don't look for anything from me until the 24th or so. - Mel.
