Same here in NW Iowa. Only local county fairs and stuff like that. Not much competition unless someone else has modded there diesel pick-up. Last year there was only two that had done anything other than drive them in from the farm. Most didn't even know how to load it up before taking off.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

Dang, clear over south of Rapid City. I was going to say that if you could make it to Johnstown, NE in the fall, we always have a pretty good one. Couple of guys that have some stuff under their hood and always make it tough. I look forward to showing them whats what this year though. Entry fees are cheap and the fun and hospitality is always top notch. Come on down and we'll have some fun! Come loaded for bear, though.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

I might be able to make it to Stapleton Ne. I'll have to add up the miles. See how much diesel fuel is by then$$ I pull with a gasser if they allow that at your pulls? Maybe you can let me know what the rules are and the date when you find out. Maybe you have a web site? Let me know. Thanks

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

It's at Johnstown, NE. Much closer to you than Stapleton. They allow gassers. There are very few diesels that participate. As far as I know it is just a "run what ya brung" deal. No classes. Come on down and we'll have a good time.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

You may want to check with the Nebraska Tractor pullers to see if you fit into one of their classes. They have some (I believe) in central and western Nebraska. Click Here

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

Well maybe its time to get something set up for our area. I know that there are a few members who reside in this state...and some down in NW IA and nrn Nebraska. Me...although I have never pulled my truck...'cept for pulling the 5'er...would love to have a dyno get together to shoot the breeze, see what everyone has done and just have a great time.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

That's a great idea. Just let me know what you are thinking and we'll see if we can get something set up. If you're thinking of doing a dyno event, if would probably have to be in SD because I don't know of any at all in NE, unless they are back east. We could maybe even do a mod day or something like that.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

Well, I'm clear over here in NE Sodak and I know there is a dyno in Watertown. I am also sure there is a dyno in Rapid City and probably one in Sioux Falls. Not sure if there is one somewhere in the middle...altho I think the one in Watertown is mobile. I know that it was brought up here to Aberdeen a couple of years ago but I had to be out of town or I would have shown all those teens what torque really is.

Anyway...I am game to help out with anything that I can. Maybe we need to gather up a list of who's interested and where they are located so we can at least find a site and a possible sponsor for a mod day.

Dave

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

I think that's the way we need to start. Any ideas on how to get a list of members?

I'm usually right up in the north central part of NE. Between Rosebud and Winner. Gregory isn't that far away either.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

There is one in Pierre sometime, don't know anything about it other than a guy I know there runs his Dodge in it every year and doesn't have much competition. I could find out more next time I talk to him.

Re: South Dakota "Home of NO Truck Pulls"??

I'd be interested in a dyno run in the area. Like was mentioned would be a great time to meat and shoot the bull. I have started wrenching on my new truck a little bit. Would be nice to get a baseline to measure improvements from. I'm only an hour away from Sioux Falls.
