'02 7.3 ccsb instrument lights keep blowing fuse

I've been trouble shooting this for 2 weeks and about to take it to a shop. First of all one day used automatic start to start truck realized parking lights didn't come on didn't worry about it. Got to work realized I had no running lights or instrument cluster lights and bed lights. Checked fuses I blew #18 and one for the automatic start that controls parking lights. Replaced both and I have parking lights now but still no instrument lights or bed lights but the third brake light only lights up one side of it when the brakes are on (LED third brake light) I have headlights and fog lights no problems there. I read somewhere to try using a jumper wire from Brown wire from headlight switch to dimmer switch blue with red stripe wire and not plug the plug into switch. Well as soon as I turn the parking lights on pops the fuse everytime. But if I don't do that and leave everything normal and turn them on I still have parking and running lights. I really don't know where to go from here if any of you guys may know where I should go from here any help would be appreciated. Also my dimmer switch if I push it up all the way till it clicks the dome light still comes on like it should radio works just fine. Windows work even the lights in the buttons for locks and Windows work light up like normal.

Your remote start adds a different dimension to your issue. Since your parking lights and remote start are on the same fuse, doesn't it sound like its somewhere in that circuit?

Have you disconnected the remote start and tried the parking lights?

Well I unhooked all the plugs from the module for the auto start and still blew the fuse. But I did find on one of the pink wires for the trucks wiring had a small burn Mark on it so I think on Tuesday is the next day I'm off I'm going to take all the wiring off for the auto start and just completely get rid of it for now at least to see if that is or isn't the culprit. If it's not what else could I look for if you have any other ideas? I hope it's not the cluster she's my daily can't really wait to long

The fact that your dome light does not come on when door is opened but does come on when you turn dash lights all the way up is possibly a clue if you trace a wiring schematic.

Do you recall the fuse location (#) that your auto start tapped into to?

Did your parking lights always come on when using remote start until that day you noticed they remained off?

When you say you have LED 3rd brake light does that mean an LED Bulb (I think a 922 ?) in factory assembly or an after-market 3rd brake light housing?

I don't follow when you say pressing the brake pedal only lights up one side of 3rd brake light because my Ford 3rd brake only has one bulb for brakes.

My dome light works when you open doors and when you turn the dimmer switch all the way up, it works fine if I worded it different my bad but yea it works fine that's what confused me cause I thought they all were connected. The third brake light is a led housing all I had to do to install was plug the prong that came from the housing of the third brake light to my original socket that use to have a bulb in. Hopefully that makes since lol. But the fuse # going by my plastic cover that covers the fuse box is #18 fuse I think it's a 10 amp I can't remember I'm not in the truck at the moment

And yes the parking lights always come on and stay on when the truck starts and runs until I put the key in and turn it to the on position and hit the brake then they will turn off. They call it valet idle or something like that from what I've been reading up on the auto starts

I just realized I'm not sure what location the auto start is tapped into which fuse, but the #18 is the one that keeps blowing on me. Sorry about that I'll find out here in about an hour or so and see where they have the auto start tapped at

This is an excerpt from the Ford Service manual for the 2002 (Note: the wiring harness was changed for 2002 so you have to search specifically for Model Year):

http://dieselinnovations.com/techfil...ses_wiring.pdf

EDIT:
This schematic shows Fuse #17 rather than Fuse #18 controlling Running Lights and Exterior Lights (i.e. Bed Light).

F2.17 15A Exterior lamps, Trailer tow relay, parking lamp

Fuse #35 and #41 are for Instrument Cluster although not identified specifically for backlighting or gauges.

So it does look like the remote start is tapped into the same fuse that's blowing but it's wierd cause the remote start itself has 3 fuses within its wiring I would think they would blow as well when the trucks fuse blows. I had 1of them blow the first time this all happened but even after my checks and blowing that 1 fuse for the truck those never blew again.
