Upgrades and Aftermarket - 6.0L EngineUpgrading or adding OEM or aftermarket equipment to your 2003-Up Super Duty or Excursion with 6.0L Power Stroke diesel engine. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.0L Power Stroke engine.
I been a member for a while in the 7.3 forum. I'm interested in buying a new 06' before the emission packed trucks hit the market. I know I can search for most info, but work has me tied up. I know all trucks have problems, but I want to be prepared before I buy.
Here are a few questions I have and any further comments would be a great help!
-What are the stock dyno numbers on the 6.0L
-Safe HP/Torque numbers when adding chips/tuners to engine/trans..
-Issues with cab noise or suspension.
I know this is a lot to ask, but the members of this site have never let me down yet.

You will get mixed responses to this question, but my 2006 6.0 is the best truck I have owned. I have 4,000 miles and everything is perfect.
I traded a 2004 2500 Cummin which I liked, but it rode rough, and was too small.
I had a 2004 6.0 which I traded because the drivetrain slack was making me crazy and the #8 injector sounded like a jack hammer.
This one is great and I think a lot of folks who are waiting for the new 6.4 are going to wish that bought one of the last of the 6.0s.
I know about 4 people who have the 2006, and no one has had any problems.
I put an SCT Extreme Street program on it and am getting 17.4 MPG in the city/highway mix. I have the King Ranch and the 20" tires and wheels look as good as any aftermarket I have seen.
I think Ford has finally ironed out the kinks and they are trying hard to win back customers.
Can't comment on dyno numbers and tuners, but I've owned a few trucks over the past couple of decades and this one's the finest. It's almost up to 17k miles and I still look forward to driving it as much as I did on day one. No mechanical problems and the only thing that bugs me is the occasional soggy 3-4 upshift. No other complaints whatsoever.

I sold my 2000 7.3 which I loved for my 06 6.0 just because I wanted a newer, bigger, nicer truck thinking there was no chance I would like the motor/trans better than what I had but I was wrong. I have 15k miles now and have not had a single problem and like the truck more and more every time I drive it. I would never take my old truck back now!!!!

My Komfort is fantastic. Would highly recommend this unit. Great ground clearance and fresh, grey and black storage. My F350 has more than enough power to handle my ATV/Trailer in my pics. Just considering upgrading my truck before the emissions equipped diesels show up.
