08 Exhaust on 07?

I have a 07 SuperDuty, 6.0 Crew Cab long bed.

My buddy has a 08 SD Dulley Crew Cab Long Bed...... He had a Magnaflow exhaust on there and removed it to install what looks like big rig pipes... they look good....

But my question is this... I got that exhaust from him for my 07 and was wanting to find out if it will fit on my truck? I know my truck is not dual setup.... but this exhaust has a Y right out of the muffler.

If I have to get some piping made thats fine... just want to know if everything else will work......

Well wouldnt your friend have a 6.4l in his 08. That exhaust is different from the ones with the 6.0l's. The only exhaust out there for 08's are filter back.

Your friend put stacks on a 6.4? Removed the DPF?

The 6.4 has an ENTIRELY different exhaust system than the 6.0 It has a particulate filter in it, and requires raw fuel injected into it to keep it clean. The removal of this is illegal on the 6.4.

Your best bet is to look at a 4" cat back from a site sponsor if you want to "upgrade" your exhaust.

I have been looking at it and it don't seam that different.... Hangers are different and so is the mid pipe that goes from the Cat to the muffler...... But I think a Muffler shop can make that mid pipe for me.....

I got it for free... so if I can make it work i shall see......

Just wanted to see if there was maybe someone that had tried it.....

what my buddy runs I dont know.... This really was nothing to do about his rig.... My rig is a 07 with a 6.0 and his is a 08 6.4....

thanks.....

ELDuner,

I was at the Ford dealer a few months ago looking doing the the same thing.
Seeing if an '08 exhaust would work on my 2000.
Conclusion: As best I can tell, that from the muffler back, it should fit. However, as you pointed out, the '08 has different hangers, but the locations on the frame seem to be the same. Mind you, these dimensions were all taken from a not-so-calibrated eyeball.

Also, make sure you have a muffler shop in your area that can handle 4" pipe. My neighborhood shop wanted to use 3" (all they could handle) and slip fit it into my 3.5" and "fill" the rest with weld. YUCK!!!

If you attempt this, please keep us updated, please.
Also, part numbers would help too.

Thanks, and good luck,

Bill.
