2-Stroke?

A friend of mine with cummins said he puts 2-stroke engine oil in with his gas. Says it runs smoother and gets one to two more MPG. Something about putting the lubrication back into the ultra-low sulfer diesel. Anyone else tried or heard of this?

i would never use anything but a well known additive like howes , stanadyne , or anything like it , i wouls stay away from atf and 2 stroke oil have seen issues with them in the past atf eats the rubber components in the fuel system causing all kinds of grief and well 2 stroke just doesnt make sense to me that is not what the oil was designed for

2 stroke oil makes sense to me, it was designed to lubricate a motor turning at 10,000 rpm or more ie: chains saws, snowmobiles, etc. it protects them from meltdown why wouldn't help a diesel? It would do nothing for water or cetane but I think it would definately help with lubing the pump etc. I don't believe it would hurt the motor. I personally would not use it because so much else is offered for diesels, but in a pinch I think it would be better than nothing.

Look at the link 444-4D posted.

I run 2stroke and it does make the motor quieter and run a bit smoother. I run this stuff for the benefit of my fuel pump and injector life. You cant just use any 2stroke oil. It must be ashless.

I have been running 2-stroke TCW-3 for quite a while now with great results. For $8 a gallon you can try it for a few tanks and see for yourself the results. I use the 1oz/1gal ratio so for 4 tanks worth you should see a difference without long term harm to the motor.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to try the 2-stroke oil (TC-W3). 1oz/1gal is what my friend in the cummins uses. Thanks again for all the input. Bobby
