2005 w/o block heater

I cannot find the block heater on my friends 2005 truck. I have called my friends that have 6.0s and we are 99% sure its not there. So what is a good way to keep this baby warm at night? I was thinking about some products I saw in summit racing. I could order a oil pan blanket that sticks to the pan or buy a bung and plug and have a shop weld it into the pan. I figure if I can keep the oil at 40degrees that should help the truck warm up faster on colder mornings. Any other ideas?

Should have bought a duramax

the engine has the heater but not the option that gets you the cord. I have a 2006 That I bought the cord for and installed it.
I guess another truck with a duramed engine is much easier than adding the cord.

Thanks guys. Powerstroke owners are way nicer than Cummins owners.

That cord on ebay doesn't look like the factory cord. The one you can buy from Ford has plastic inserts mounted on the cord for fixing the cord to the frame.

That cord works fine. I put one just like it on my 05. I used wire ties to secure it.

I just finished installing the cord. All I can say is it is a PITA. My hands were just too big in some places and too short in others. I had the cord sitting around for a year and just never installed it. This is where I got the cord.
