Accelleration dead spot - Dealer blessed solution?

05/350 all stock.

I have posted on this subject before and found that this dead spot in accelleration from a dead stop is "normal". I'm telling y'all, this is going to kill me in traffic one day. Is there a dealer "blessed" solution for this? Is there a chip or something that will fix this? I don't hot rod around too much so am not really concerned about pushing this motor hard, but have almost bought the farm twice now. This is a serious safety issue the way I see it. All you driver's Ed. people need not respond. I am a fairly cautious driver, but there a moments when I must get moving quickly!

Has anyone been successful in lobbying the dealer to fix this? Perhaps with aftermarket performance mods and still honor warranty work?

Thanks

Fall guy,
Have you drove similar trucks at your dealers to see if they do it too, by the despiration im thinking you need an ebp sensor, egr valve vgt selenoid or a turbo...(maybe all or just one) some lag is normal but i dont think the pain your feel'n is.... Re: Accelleration dead spot - Dealer blessed solution?

I have the very same, exact, problem, has been to dealer several times, hasn't been fixed. My wife refuses to drive the truck as it isn't safe, and Im tired of Kia's blowing my doors off. If any one has a fix, I'd like to hear it.

It is not only that it wont go from the hole, but when off road there is no pedal response. Its either spinning the tires or not moving over small bumps.

Mine does the same thing,If your at a stop then go to pull out theres nothing there....then you get full on power and you better be holding on.I just figured it was SERIOUS turbo lag.And as in the other cases above i've had a few "puker"moments when i thought i'd get T boned.

Re: Accelleration dead spot - Dealer blessed solution?

My new 05 does this also. Nothing like the acceleration off the line of my 02. Doesn't hesitate with half throttle, but slam it to the floor at a dead stop and it doesn't do anything for a couple of seconds. Love the ride and quiet of the new truck but seriously dissappointed with the 6.0 coming from the 7.3. I can now say that cubic inches does matter. They can tell me all the HP and torque #'s they want but I have driven both and the 6.0 is not as strong.

unfortunately there is not. I've been in several times too. Just learn to drive the truck and avoid the lag. You will get better results by rolling into the throttle for a second then matting it. You will avoid the 1-2 second lag.
