Advantage of SCT X3 over X2?

This may have been covered but I couldn't find one. We're going to get some tunes for my dad's pickup soon. I know that Innovative still sells the X2, but is the X3 so much superior that we should go that route? We're not going to be doing anything crazy with it, but I would like to know before we buy one. Also, being it's the old mans truck, I think we both want whichever one is the simplest to use. Whats everone's consensus?

I have the x2, it plugs into the OBDII and you program it, then put it away. The x3 has gauges and stuff. Since I already had the x2, purchased the Quadzilla Commander for the digital gauges with warning alerts to keep the stock driver's pillar handle. If I had to do it all over again, would probably have just done the x3 route.

I believe that you are talking about the live wire, not the X3

I think with the X3 you get more custom tunes and maybe more stock tunes. I have the x3, it doesn't come with gauges, that would be the live wire. The X3 works just like the x2

Ok thanks for the reply. I got the X2 for my pickup, so other then the price it really doesn't matter to me.

The main difference is the X3 has more memory, larger screen, on screen datalogging, and has support for the latest processors.

If you are buying new, I'd go with the X3. If you decide to use it on another vehicle later, it will support it.
