Aftermarket Boost Gauge Drips Oil - Yikes!

After nearly two years of a problem free A pillar gauge set on my '05, I noticed black oil dripping down the hood release lever. I traced it back to the boost gauge, where the hose that taps into the intake manifold connects to the gauge. I tighten the compression nut, so the leak as stopped, but why it there oil in the line?

FWIW, I do have an after market air filter that farts on occasion, but no turner.

Is a little oil to be expected at the back of a turbo boost gauge, or is this an indication of a problem that I should check into?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: Aftermarket Boost Gauge Drips Oil - Yikes!

Basically...you had an air leak in the line that allowed the CCV oil crap to travel up the line and find it's way out.
If there's no leaks...the oil won't travel than far since it's a dead-end hose....no air passing through = no way for the oil to travel the length of the hose.
By tightening it hopefully you stopped the leak and any future problems.
