Re: Air intakes helping mpg?

JB_6ltr_PSD,

I think folks are just trying to decide what level of MPG it might make. They do help as air is still free and more of it will increase MPG, but being able to prove it is tough. My truck varies by as much a 5 MPG depending on driving style and what I am using of for at any one time, I imagine others see the same. Intake and exhaust are going to improve MPG, by how much is the real $50.00 question. Hope this didn't just cause you more questions, if you need any help call us.

Re: Air intakes helping mpg?

I have the afe pro guard and the 4" exhaust and I didn't see any help with mpg at all. Just came back from a 1100 mile trip and got 14.32 solo. But was bucking wind all the way back west from NE to CO. Boost was running 7 to 15 psi most of the time. Going east it was running 3 to 5 psi most of the time. Around home here I get a little over 18 mpg. Guess I should stay off the interstate.

Mark, I have heard AFE is making a new system for the 6.0. Any word?

JB_6ltr_PSD
I did not notice a big difference at low RPMs. I did notice about a 1+ MPG increase at 80-85 MPH.

Re: Air intakes helping mpg?

Teebird,

Heard that too but always forget to ask when we place stock orders. If they do it will pricey I imagine as they will have to do even more work than they did on the 7.3 Stage II as the 6.0 engine bay is pretty tight already. Time will tell and I will try to remember to ask for you.
