Airaid Pre-Filter

Well I got tired of trying to clean the bugs out of my pleats on my Airaid filter so I bought a pre-filter (part # 799-128) from 4wheel parts. Says it more than doubles cleaning intervals, water resistant, filters to 5 microns, no loss to power or airflow and all I have to do is wash with soap and water. I'll give it a try. Re: Airaid Pre-Filter

I had a couple of these over the last 5 years. They do work good, and will prolong the cleaning time of the filter, but the pre filter will have to be cleaned reguarly. LLoyd

Re: Airaid Pre-Filter

Thanks for the info, I figured I would have to clean it more because of the fine mesh material.

Re: Airaid Pre-Filter

GreenCrush, I've been using the Airaid prefilter for almost a year and it really keeps the filter from getting filthy. All the large debris that normally fills the pleats quickly wont get through the material. I think its a big help.

Re: Airaid Pre-Filter

Cad, I no longer use that setup. I did clean the pre filter every 10,000 miles, with the whole unit every 20,000. Lloyd

Re: Airaid Pre-Filter

I went to the SP diesel filter (tymar style). 35,000 miles & still working good. I had one of the conical filters break the metal spine (on the fiter)so I went to the biggest filter that would fit. A little better flow. Lloyd
