Amsoil Filter?

Does any use the Amsoil filter for their 6.0 other than the motorcraft oem? Just wondering if it fits correctly, since some after market filters don't fit right for the 6.0 truck.

We use all AMSOIL oil and filters in our trucks. It's great stuff, that's why we only deal in their product.

I have'nt been able to compare the two side by side yet, so just wondering if they are the same length and fit. If it's too short then I'm told the oil will just bypass the filter at the base and not get filtered.
I'm going to put amsoil 15w40 diesel/marine oil full synthetic,is this the proper one for the 6.0? It doesnt say cj-4 on the bottle, just ci-4 and other stuff!

I tried the Amsoil synthetic filter once. I noticed a delay in the oil pressure coming up at start up. I was told this was due to the filter being different in size compared to the OEM one. It is my understanding this would cause the oil to dump out of the filter housing after engine shutoff. Maybe they have fixed the issue as this was a little over 2 years ago when the filter first came out.

As far as their oil, it is okay in shear resistance, but not as good as Schaeffer's synthetic.

I just put the amsoil filter and oem side by side, and the amsoil filter is shorter, therefore I don't think it will seat right?

I guess they haven't changed the design as this was the same thing I noticed the last time I used one. There was a definate lag in the oil pressure coming up that wasn't there before when I was using the OEM filter. As soon as I switched back to the OEM filter the lag went away. I am not a certified mechanic, but any delay in getting oil pressure at startup can not be good in terms of engine wear.

I tried the Amzoil filter and oil. Wasn't happy with the cold weather starts and their 25k OIC doesn't apply to diesel motors. If you don't use their filter with their oil then the warranty doesn't apply to either product. You are required to change the filter at the OEM interval and top off the oil.

There are other oils that are full syntheic and found easier around town for me. Pep Boys 2 for $7 Fram OEM filters are a cost saver and fit just fine.

Why not just use the motorcraft, then you know you have the right one that fits?
When you change the oem at factory recommendations, do you just unscrew the cap and lift the filter out? Do you need to add any oil?

I have oil samples to show how well Amsoil oil and filters work in the 6.0
22,000 mile oil sample that was still good for continued use after 1 year and 6 months.
the filter is no different in size, the problem may be in the screw on cap, some older 6.0 have a spring loaded adaptor in the cap that has to be removed or you will bend down the four tabs on the top of the filter, and that will cause oil pressure issues.

I would love to see the oil samples you took to come up with your conclusion.

Use the search function here for OIC or OA. You'll have plenty of reading.

I don't think they can fix that issue, since Racor holds a patent on the size of the filter...
