The majority says they love the Predator for tranny reliablility. I personally have had problems with the Predator so back it went. I don't like the coolant overflowing and my truck shifted very strange with the Pred.

I e-mailed Diablo to see if I could purchase a program from them to download into my Predator that just improves the shifting and does not increase the power. The response I got back from "Dan" at Diablo said that they cannot control the transmission with their programmer??? If this is true how do they improve the shifting.

My neighbor has a Predator and has no problems with shifting. I have the Super Chip and have no problems either. We've both had them about the same time. He drives a lot more than I do though. He's had his truck since July and has 22,000 miles on it. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif[/img]

Mine also shifts fine with the Predator, I just wanted to stack it with a Quad 125 and use the Predator for improved shifting only. Diablo's website says they can do custom tunes so I thought they would be able to modify only the shifting, apparently not. I like the smoother power delivery of the Quad.

The Predator shifts great, their tech assistance just told me that they cannot program the transmission because it is controlled by it's own seperate computer. I think he may of been confused by my question because the Predator greatly improves the shifting over stock and if their tuner doesn't change something with the tranmission file then how does the shifting improve?

The predator definately changes the way my truck shifts. A lot firmer and of course the way it runs is great. I have had it for 3 months, soince my truck had about 8,000 miles on it. No real problems yet, my egr cooler blew up, but not really sure if it was the fault of the predator or just a bad part.

Most flashers use engine parameters to manipulate the transmission. It works under some conditions, but not very well in others. SCT is about the only one out there that has full control of the transmission processor.
