Anyone know anything about the new Granatelli/Diablo Predator tuner?

Well? Anyone have any info they would like to share? I emailed Granatelli to see what's up with this new unit. I have a friend who is using it in his new Denali Quadrasteer pickup and he absolutely loves it. I was originally thinking about the Quad box but I like the idea of not having to install a single thing and the ability to remove it in less than one minute if need be. I like how it is a diagnostic tool as well. Is all of this hype or does it perform like they say?

In case you are wondering what I'm talking about, here's a link http://www.granatellimotorsports.com...ieseltruck.htm

Re: Anyone know anything about the new Granatelli/Diablo Predator tuner?

I've bought stuff from Granatelli that amounted to "snake oil". His "GMAF" meter for GM cars actually lost HP on my car. I went through 3 different ones and spent $150 dyno testing them. They guaranteed that I would gain 10rwhp, I said 5rwhp would be fine. The best one lost 3 rwhp. They refused to refund the money. Even the advertising they used on the box was a total fabrication, and they refused to show the actual dyno sheets. So be careful when dealing money with JR.

Predator has drawn mostly good reviews, with just a few cases of overstated claims. Personally, I'd stay away from Granatelli products and deal directly with Predator, just in case something goes wrong, Predator has a good rep for standing behind their products.

JDookie,

The Granatelli and the Predator is the exact same part. Granatelli is their distributor etc. The product does have a different sticker but is the same. I didn't think they had a 6.0 programmer acailable yet though!

Re: Anyone know anything about the new Granatelli/Diablo Predator tuner?

Mark is correct in that Granatelli is only puting his company logo on DiabloSports Predator. Other than his sticker, the unit he has is identical to the one everyone other dealer has.
The Predator for the 6.0 is pretty close to being released. From what I understand, it should be by mid August. Testing has gone very well. Good power is being made and DiabloSport has been able to alter the transmission settings and the top end speed limiter.

Re: Anyone know anything about the new Granatelli/Diablo Predator tuner?

Thanks for all the replies guys, but I think I am still going to go with the newest version Quadzilla box with the new LCD screen. Quad has been very helpful with all of my questions, he also has a money back guarantee if I something crazy happens like I hate what it does to my truck......but we all know that won't happen.
