Why waste the money replacing the best filter designed for the 6.0? Its got the best protection, the performance is great, and if you buy them off the internet, are very cost effective.

Its your money, but I'd rather spend it on other toys.

Re: Anyone using a MAC air intake?? what are your results??

I think one of the sponsers, InnovativeDiesel, is using the MAC Intake on their project truck, maybe you can contact them about how well it works.

I am using the AFE Stage 2 cold air intake box. I don't have any dyno numers on it, only seat of the pants "feel". I have a 6 speed manual, so I am always reving up the engine for each shift. The engine spools up smoother and quicker with the AFE intake vs. stock. It eliminated an exhaust "drone" that I had at around 2,500 RPM.

I look at the MAC intake, but I don't think the MAC has a "box" around it to pull in cold air from outside the engine compartment.

Re: Anyone using a MAC air intake?? what are your results??

I have the MAC intake on my 6.0. It is simple to install and looks fantastic all polished. This intake will give you a huge increase in turbo whistle over the stock Donaldson. I recently installed a AFE Proguard 7 filter on it. I had to order the filter direct from AFE because the base of the MAC is larger than the Stage 1 and 2 that they sell. I also had to modify the base that holds the filter on the intake tube a bit. I dont think you can beat it for the money.

I got the MAC intake and yes it looks great. And the filtration is pretty good to. Had it off resently and no dust behind the filter.

The Mac intake works well. I do recommend an outwear cover on any gauze type filter design.
