ARP Install

anyone done the ARP stud install themselves? I just got my truck and blowing a head gasket kind of scares of, so obviously i would like to be proactive. I have access to pretty much all the tools i would need, is this something I can do or do I just need to pass it on to someone else? (i assume the cab needs to come off?)

Yes the cab needs to come off so a lift is necessary but i would be somewhat cautious before tearing down 6.0 as they are a bit more complex than a 7.3 , but if you have worked on 7.3 engine internals you should be able to handle it. good luck

Look at this; go to 6.0 powerstroke engine & drivetrain section, look for "taking the cab off for head studs " page 12 ? , read reply# 5 the last post on this thread was 10/16/09

unfortunately i am out of warranty (04 with 82K miles). so any changes will be done on my dime. I ordered a 4" turbo back exhaust today to help get the exhaust pressure and heat down. Im not doing a chip, so hopefully this help
