Banks, Edge and other controllers

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times before but which controller is recommended. I have a 2005 6.0 Excursion stock with 12k miles. Does anyone have a Banks Six Gun as I am leaning in that direction. A little more expensive? Yes. But, I think they have a much more tried and true reputation.

I am concerned with EGT issues. I am not looking to drag race. Interested in some performance gains, increased mpg, and towing improvements. Want a box that will also monitor transmission operation such as slip detection. Do not want a box that just jams more fuel into the cylinders--black smoke exhaust. I do know I need to include an exhaust as well and will do that.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: Banks, Edge and other controllers

frdzilla,

You might want to wait for the new Edge Platinum, full trans controls, turbo timer and full gauge package including trans temp etc etc. WE are already taking orders for them even before they are released for sale!

[/ QUOTE ]That's funny I don't care who you are!!!
Stay clear of the Banks if you can. The SCT is far and away better. It's cheaper to start, more reliable, and WAY easier on your tranny.
But, you should check out the 6.0 shootout results. That will give you a snapshot of all the most popular boxes.
