Banks not good people? - Diesel Forum

I've order the six gun's from banks been told delivery to be end of March, they have already charge the full amount on my card!!!!!!!!!! Call today and they say delivery should be end April…could not speak to someone about my card charge. Is that usual from Banks? Please is this common practice in this industry? I’m in the mood of cancelling the order, any other setup I should consider.

That doesn't sound "normal" especially when the final release date is known to be "loose" at this point. If you're worried about the ship date, addressthat with them and have them issue a credit. Personally, from what they are "saying" about it, I'd be chomping at the bit to get ti in even if the ship date has been pushed out to the end of April now.

However, I'd be a little peaved if they charged me already on a product that hasn't been released yet.....

Was it directly with Banks, or with a dealer?

You can get a better price through a dealer. I'd cancel, then look up one of our sponcers and order it in about a month. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img]

I am not sure where in Canada you are, but we have a lot of dealers there and they will not treat you like this. Also more than likely by going to a dealer you can avoid paying the brokerage fees that go with shipping stuff across the border.

Let me know if you need some names and numbers and we will get someone that will deal with you on a more personable level.

Quadzilla's not much better, they want to charge me 60 bucks for a cheap 50 cent connector that broke off. The connector was broke putting it on the truck but I dont see how I did it seeing how that is what I do 6 days a week at Nissan man. facillity. I am not saying do it for free, but 60 bucks and I am not even sure if it was not a defective part..............................

That's illegal. A merchant is not allowed to charge your card until the product ships out. As a merchant myself, I know this for a fact. They can get into some serious hot water with their merchant service.

What we do on occasion is get an approval authorization code from the merchant service if we want to make sure a credit card is good for the ammt. before we special order something. The auth. reserves said ammt. of money for us, so when we do ship it off to the awaiting customer, the card will get approved.
This may be the case in your situation. They may have just obtained an approval code, which sets aside the ammt. for them to use at a later date. I believe it will hold that ammt. for a week or so. You can give your card company a call to find out if this is what happened. If so, no need to worry. It wont show up on your bill.

If you are getting charged $60 it must be because and FICM plug is broken. These are not cheap $.50 parts, they are very expensive. If you can buy them for $.50 then I will buy as many as you can get me. Nothing leaves our shop broken. If you recieved something that was broken you need to call us immediately upon reciept.

What we do in cases like these are not repair the harnesses. It would cost more money to try and fix a plug and re pin it than a complete harness. Typically what happens is either you get a whole new module or we completely replace the harness. Old harnesses go into the trash as we do not rebuild them. If you think it is a bad deal then we can ship you the old harness with the new one if you prefer? If you do not want a new harness we can ship the module back to you in the condition it is in? The other option is that if you think it is unfair I will ship the module along with a new plug back to you and you can fix it.

We want to make you happy, so I gave you several options. You can email me, message me, or call me and we can do whatever you would like.

Just to clear things up, you should have been asked if you wanted it fixed, and you should have not ever been charged until the item was ready to ship back to you. So to say that we are not much better I do not think is fair. What are other companies policies on repairs? We never charge or authorize any credit cards until the item is waiting to be shipped.

Hope this helps clear things up.

I guess you are right. In no way should I try to send him to someone close to where he lives that can give him personalized service and support, as well as save him shipping costs.

I agree with what David said so you may want to verify if your card has actually be charged. Either way, you may do better with price through a site Sponsor/Banks Dealer, and even if it's the same price, you'll be helping to support the site! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
