Banks Sixgun

I recently installed a Banks Sixgun w/PDA. I am very pleased with the overall performance and would like some input from other Banks owners on the power setting for the best fuel economy. I've been driving it for about a week now and it seems that the PCM has leveled off on the learning curve. Driveability and shifting are great and am getting about the same hwy. mpg. as before the tuner installation, i.e., 20.5 on level 3 at 75 mph.
Your thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated,
Rhett

Re: Banks Sixgun

I haven't done any MPG tests at the different levels but the sales rep recommended level 4 as the everyday setting for economy/power. I think if you're running on level 3 getting more power and the same MPG you're doing well. I only average around 16-17 empty but I do have a 4x4 crew cab long bed. Not sure what yours is.

Re: Banks Sixgun

I run mine on level 4 and just got 19.5 on a 300 mile trip to the beach this weekend. Love this set-up. Do you guys have the SL level after level 6? Mine just has one through 6, but the book says it should have SL for "Speed Loader." Just curious. Great install, great product. Would recommend!

Re: Banks Sixgun

You have to activate the SL setting from the PDA. I haven't done this since you have to accept the disclaimer to activate it. Level 6 is more than plenty for me. I figure no need to push the extreme for that few extra horses.

Thanks for the info! I'm on vacation and don't have the owner's manual! Do you know how to do this!?

Re: Banks Sixgun

Under the menus on the pda one of the icons says speedloader. Just hit that icon and accept the disclaimer and that should activate it.

I drive on SL all the time. The extra horses are addictive!

Re: Banks Sixgun

I am an idiot! Drilling and tapping an exhaust manifold for a pyro sensor, no problem. Actually looking through the menu's on a super easy to operate PDA was evidently too much for me to handle! It was right under my nose. I didn't activate as of now. I'm not certain I want to suffer the consequences!

Re: Banks Sixgun

I don't have the new tuner with the PDA option. I just have the switch on the dash with levels 1-6. Have ya'll noticed anything different about the new tuner, except the PDA? I run on 4 all the time and get about 16-18 on the HWY depending on traffic. I have 4X4 sitting on 320/60...

Re: Banks Sixgun

In reading this am I to assume that a banks equipped super duty will run a 14.5? What will a similarly equipped ( exhaust-intake etc.) with an SCT from innovative run? I really like the change on the fly set up.

It is in my sig below. SCT-13.71, Attitude in level 6 and then 5. Will probably get a SCT or eveloution as a tranny tune on the Edge products. Jeff
