Banks Techni-cooler won't work with Airaid!

Good Morning,
Just a word of information or advice. I just installed the new Banks Techni-cooler with the High-Ram intake and you cannot use the Airaid intake with them. No where on their website does it warn you about this but I wanted to let you all know before you try it. Installing the new Banks set up requires moving the driver side battery up just over a 1/2" which creates the problems. If any of you have the Airaid you know that the hood closes/seals to the top of the Airaid box. Well now with the box 1/2" higher the hood won't close. The plastic elbow that attaches to the back of the box won't bolt back up either because its up against the bottom of the brake cylinder. Big bummer but I'll get it worked out.
For what its worth I love the new bigger intercooler and intake!! I had them powder coated to match the truck and it looks as good as it spools!!! It does spool up faster for better off line acceleration. I have pics if anyone wants to see. Now back to the track. God Bless,
Keith

Re: Banks Techni-cooler won't work with Airaid!

did you try fitting it without moving the batteries first i have a volant and it covers the top of the battery and rubs my liner just a touch now. I put the banks intercooler on and every thing fit without moving any of the batteries around. There was just a little trimming on the pasanger side braket, but nothing had to be moved. The only thing that I did notice is that the highram rubs a touch on my hood liner.

My personal truck has the Banks IC along with an AFE Stage II. I ditched the Banks spacer and used a few washers instead (probably about 1/4-1/3 the thickness of the spacer) and was able to get it all to fit, but it was tight.

Thanks guys, I'll check to see if I can move it back down some. I guess that was a no brainer. I will advise.

Not to be rude, but I really doubt banks cares if the Airaid kit works with the banks intercooler. Banks designs their stuff to work with banks stuff.

I have a Banks intercooler with a K&N ram air and it fits fine. I suspect some fit and some don't, but I have heard that some slight mods have to be made to get them to work sometimes. No big deal though.
