best power programmer/chip

What is the best programmer for the 6.0? I have an edge evolution for my 7.3 (2001) that was on my 97 and it works great although I have nothing to compare it to. For my 6.0 I was looking at the Hypertech chip because you can tow in the highest power setting (110 hp) without exhaust temp issues and I tow a lot. I also am concerned about cost. My edge evolution was used and affordable, the hypertech I am looking at is only a couple of hundred as opposed to the $500 to $700 ones from banks or bullydog. What are your opinions?

Re: best power programmer/chip

I am also looking for a programmer. Here is a link to a shootout posted on one of the companies website. Maybe this can help you out.

Re: best power programmer/chip

Look into the Diablo Sport Predator, great tuner, easy to use and very affordable. I would be concerned about towing with any chip regardless of weight, a stock truck can build excessive EGT's so you know one with added parameters will. If you dont have gauges in you 6.0 you should consider those as well, call if I can help.

Go with the SCT XCal2 from Innovative Diesel. You wont be dissapointed. Just call Eric, tell him what you want, and youre good to go.

Frankly, this is the worst advice anyone could give or take. The Diablo Sport Predator has caused so many engine problems on 6.0 trucks, it's use ought to be outlawed..

I just looked at your website and you stock many other options besides this one. Most of them are darned good choices for moderate power increases and any one of the other options you have, beat the Predator in terms of reliability and potential for engine damage.

Re: best power programmer/chip

Teamroper60,
Same as in the other post, I am not trying lean anyone one way or the other to a specific product. We, Horsepowerupgrades.com, have not had these issues with the preds and the 6.0. There is ALOT of product out there, and we sell ALOT of the preds. Just trying to give options.

Certainly options abound for this engine as nearly everyone makes something for it... You mentioned in the other post that the Diablo Sport Predator has been updated to correct the issues they had... I certainly hope you are correct, because they did more damage than any three other tuners combined. However, I still think several of your other options are far superior to it.

Re: best power programmer/chip

I could not agree more, it was said that price might be a concern and as such I felt that Diablo was atleast worth mentioning. Thank you for the follow up.
