Big HP? Anyone got a recipe?

Hey Guys,

I'm working on a few different things and I was wondering if anyone in here has a good formula for big hp in a 6.0? I know of a few for the Cummins but I'm a Ford Puriest and I haven't seen anyone with a 6.0 over 650 hp. (except the 800 hp Spal land speed ranger which blew its intercooler a couple years back)

I would like to hear what y'all have under the hood and how you got there. I'm currently just shy of 500hp with some simple bolt ons and programmers. I'm not a huge fan of NOS but it does work.

Re: Big HP? Anyone got a recipe?

There are a few close to and over 700...most of us got there with some help from nitrous.

Why don't you list all your mods so we'll know where to start ?

I read your sig...and don't wanna bust any bubbles..but with those mods...IF that's all you have...you're barely around 400...not even close to 500.

If you truly want 650...get ready to write a 5 figure check.
You're looking at everything in my sig....at minimum.

Wow, according to his signature my muffler delete probably gave me close to 60 horses

Seriously, listen to UNBROKEN. He's got the formulas for how to get there. He is right though, its gonna take more than what you got to get to "just shy" of 500

Re: Big HP? Anyone got a recipe?

I dont know how much I have but it's plenty. I can burn grandma in the grenada and Hong in the honda. I can smoke Tyrone in the impala and Steve in the hemi. And most anything in between. I feel like I'm somewhere in the 400ish to maybe 450ish range. It's a whole lot of fun I know that much.

Re: Big HP? Anyone got a recipe?

I agree with unbroken your not going to get 450 hp with just a tuner because I have an sct turbo swap non vgt 275 injectors stage 3 fuel system and I dynoed 445 with a slipping trans but now that I have my suncoast in and tuned it I will dyno it again and see what I get.I spent well over 10,000 thousand dollars on this whole package, and thats with some incredable deals on some of the stuff.

Re: Big HP? Anyone got a recipe?

I'm having the same conversation with anther forum right now. I don't want to get into the HP conversation here also. My last dyno was at 476. I don't seem to have that dyno sheet but I have the 462 before the exhaust. I'm having some more work done to the truck next week and I will be redynoing the truck. So, at that time I will post the dyno sheet and y’all can tell me how full of crap I am.

What I’m working on currently isn’t for my truck. I’m actually not 100% sure it will even happen. I will be starting with an engine block basically and building up from there. In regards to the 5 figure check, not worried about that at this point in time. I went to the Elite Diesel site and I don’t really see a recipe.

I figure on the head gaskets, studs, injectors, turbo, fuel system. Forgot about the Transmission. Thanks. What’s a SCT?

I’m looking for what injectors (there are so many different ones and many of them aren’t reliable. How many cc’s?)
What turbo (or how much boost)
Fuel System (anyone specific, FASS?)

Just looking for combination currently. What are you at Unbroken?

Re: Big HP? Anyone got a recipe?

Why would you start a 6.0 from a bare engine block? O yea because of the large selection of internal lowers for the motor. You just call Hypermax. Send them your motor and a check for like $40,000 and they garantee 900 rwhp the same set-up they ran on the bonneville truck.

wow "My last dyno was at 476. I don't seem to have that dyno sheet but I have the 462 before the exhaust". on just an edge, exhaust and intake. that probably costs less than $1500 I spent 10,000 and I got alittle more, Not to call you a liar but I would like to see that Dyno print out I have mine saved
