Re: billet alum. oil filter cap questions

I'm still looking for more info on these billet caps. Do the filters click in like the OEM?
How do you like them?

Re: billet alum. oil filter cap questions

I have the Oilguard caps for my oil filter and oil filler. I like them. I've never had any problem with them other than the bypass filter system won't work with non-OEM type filters.

You can get them Oilguard et al without the fittings or holes if you don't want the bypass.

Re: billet alum. oil filter cap questions

I have the billet filter cap that came with my FS-2500 by-pass system and it has sealed flawlessly for the last 5K miles (since installed). This may be a dumb question, but are putting the O-ring on the cap before you install it? Sounds real strange to have four caps leak!

And yes, the filter "clicks" into my filter cap.

Re: billet alum. oil filter cap questions

Running the same cap as leros and never had it leak yet, pretty close to 40,000 miles so far.

I was reading something about billet caps, and I believe with the Oilguard billet caps you need Ford OEM style filters, and if you have the Amsoil Billet caps you need Amsoil oil filters. I saw a picture of the two filters side by side, and the OEM filters are flat on top vs the Amsoil filters have a step on it.
