Bought a used Bullydog module - need advice.

As usual, I jumped on a purchase, and now it's time to research and see if it was a wise idea. Some day I will learn to do this in the reverse order. I just bought and installed a used Bullydog module, I don't even know exactly what model it is. It came out of an 03 6.0, and went into my 03. It is gold on top and red on the sides, so I think it might be the dominator. Anyway I was told that you can switch it from 90 hp to 120 hp. It really does make a differance. Now, after searching the archives, I learned they are not real popular. It did mess with the shifting BIG TIME when I hit it hard, I guess it's up to the computer on the truck to learn how to shift with the module. Another reason why they aren't popular. I better get to my questions:

1. If I drive the truck (mostly) nice, can I not get gauges or bigger exhaust and not put expensive drive train components at great risk?

2. While hauling my 8,000 travel trailer, can I leave it on the low setting?

Here's the deal. I am not a lead foot, but I do like the idea of more power and better economy. I am not about to spend 3 grand on mods for my truck (wife won't let me ). So, spending $150 on a used module seemed like a cheap way to get it.

Whatdya think?

Sorry, wasn't really getting the answers in the archives on this particular product.

Re: Bought a used Bullydog module - need advice.

The one you have is a rapid power module(gold&red).sometimes you have to do what you have to do so have fun with it.i have the tripledog on mine and love it!now to the other things,i put the exhaust on for performance and look.i put a one piece drive shaft becouse when i would get on it the carrier would push out. other than that ,thats all i have done performace.with what you have i dont think your going to have a problem so just have fun,but when you can $ get the tripledog and an exhaust you will be happy with both.thats just my opinion, hope it helps!
