Has anyone had the full bullet proof diesel setup done. Have decided to keep my 06 Harley edition 4x4 f-250 so looking to make it bullet proof. Have 80k and have all recommended service done by dealer. Thanks
I dont have the full bullet proof kit but i have the one just under it and i have put over 60k on it with out any problems... I see you are in my area not to many harely trucks in the fort myers area...
Fr8flier,
you have any pics?
they have a few Harley's by me in the Tampa area because Brandon Ford got the most in the country. When i bought my 06 they had 12 on the lot, While traveling with work every other place i looked at from Ganesville/Orlando to Naples/Miami area only had none or 1-2.
I even checked at a few places in Kansas and Oregon and some dealers didn't even know they made a Harley Edition.
I am not looking for performance, just reliable and no problems down the road. I tow a fifth wheel toy hauler so it does work hard sometimes. Is the head stud change really a problem if I take care of the egr, flush and change the oil cooler? Thanks. Sorry no pics available right now. The truck is black with blue factory flames . Stock 20 inch wheels
I installed the full BulletProof kit myself (oil cooler and EGR cooler). So nice not having to worry about EOT and ECT temp deltas. Job wasn't particularly hard, just time consuming (first time I've ever dug that deep into my truck).
Would it be better to just delete the EGR? Or a sneaky pipe? I am looking into Deleting the EGR on my 2004 F250 6.0, Also flushing the coolant, new oil cooler and head studs. I am debating over the delete or the bulletproof EGR. I am getting some coolant puke and also my coolant is boiling. Does that mean my EGR is already done for?? Any advice would be very helpful Thanks
Not sure about the other issues but if you haven't replaced your stock radiator cap you need to. They are known for losing pressure lower the over all pressure of your cooling system and allowing your fluid to boil.
Search you tube for "$5 dollar part to save your powerstroke" or something similar and you will see a short video on it.
If you have the funds the BPD setup is the way to go. I haven't updated my signature but I just recently had my engine pulled and both the block and heads milled along with rebuilding the heads, studding and adding strictly Diesels auxillary coolant lines. While it was open I had a RR installed as well. The only thing I didn't do was the BPD oil cooler and now I really wish I had.
Do the Bullet proof system, I've had mine on for two years, best upgrade I ever did ! Plus Ken is a standup guy, and they will stand behind their work.
i lilke the idea of the bulletproof kit. it fixes all kinds of problems, but its pretty expesive. when do u run for EOT when its all warmed up going down the road? i would probably just delete the egr, flush the system real good and rebuild the oil cooler if the deltas were still bad
