Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

Well after the blackout I went outside and noticed a package on my front steps. First thing I noticed was they sent the wrong chip. I ordered the 70 and 115 hp chip but got the 70 hp chip only. Well they have a 30 return policy so I put it in. Installation was easy. Took it for a ride and WOW! I was impressed with the truck when it was stock but this chip really woke it up. Ran smooth, shifted smooth, fast peddle reponse and idles better than before. No help with lack of power under 1800 rpm.

I have had no issues with my motor after 10000 miles except rough idle and replacement of the ICP sensor.

Re: Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

Thanks for the hands on road test. Been interested
in the 70HP Bullydog myself. Do you need a pyro or any
other guage/modifications? Also, been told by a reliable
diesel shop after selling 6 70HP units for the 6.0 he had
no complaints or returns. At $650 is it really worth it
or is there a better priced source? Just pulled a rather
heavy 5th wheel across Colorado and Utah's I-70 with
our stock '04 with minimum problems. Always need more
power. The 5-speed transmission works good up/down
hill in the tow/haul mode. Also, does the computer need
to relearn driving habits? Thanks!

$650

I gotta bunch of them for sale at that price!

That is the same price as our adjustable.
If that is a correct price it better be a darn good 70hp.

Check out www.quadzillapower.com and do some price comparison.

Quad...

This is all new to me...that's why I'm asking.
Will check your site. Give us "entry level"
a break. If...all the diesel hop-ups with proven
results/driver feedback/product comparisons/pricing
were on one post...What a revolting idea!

Re: Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

Morning,

I'm with Quad here, we sell the Edge 6.0 Power Stroke Juice module that has three power levels so you can pick and choose what level of power you need for what you're doing with your truck at that particular time etc. Not to mention the price etc. Call us if you need any information.

Re: Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

red70judge,

I apologize if that post across a little sharp. It was not intended to be little your knowledge at all. I think more than anything I was a little shocked. They are aselling a non adjustable module for what our 3 position module sells for. Our 70hp module is considerably cheaper.

I doubt you will ever find everything you want in one post, but you do a search for Quadzilla and I am sure you will find more than enough good feedback in this section!

If you have any questions or need anything you can always e-mail us or call us.

Thanks,

Quad

Re: Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

Quad and Mark...

Thanks for the replys...Will e-mail or
call you folks when and if I decide to add
a power adder module. Need more owner/user feedback
and the "do I really need this product?" answered.
Also, will it be cost-effective? Still need to know
if these add-ons require guages/modifications? We are
on the road a lot and have limited web access time.

Thanks again....Jim

Red70Judge,

Always Always have gauges if you're going to add much power, the 6.0 seesm to produce less egt than a comparable 7.3 doing the same work with the same added level of HP, but gauges and exhaust are a safety must in our opinion.

I know the Turbo back is the way to go, but will the CAT back system be just as good for us guys that have to leave the cat in for warranty purposes.

That's a good question. What are the regulations on cats and diesels? I haven't even considered taking them off my gasser. It's like tabu but I hadn't even though twice about dumping it once I get the Ex.!

Re: Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

I just hollowed mine out. You can remove it in about 10 min! The inside looks like a honeycomb made out of some kind of ceramic. What I could'nt believe is that the holes are as small as the tip of a sharp pencil!! How these don't clog is amazing.

I took a long drill bit and drilled several holes all the way through, then took a prybar and smashed it out.

Latdo,

Yes, it's a major improvement over the stock system, and if you have regulations I would suggest you go that direction. GeoregC. went with a cat back and was amazed at the differences, then he got crafty and used an early 7.3 test pipe and now has a no cat cat back system he really likes.

If it goes well with the 70 horse just think about the 115.

Re: Bully Dog 70 hp chip installed

Quad,

I have sent a couple of e-mails to your address on the web. I am looking to purchase a module for my 2003 6.0L 4X4 truck.

I asked a couple of questions in the e-mail that I wanted to clear up before I purchased it. I have never received a response.

You seem to have a very good rep on here that is the reason I am posting. Should I wait for a reply or just post the questions here?

Thanks,

The e-mail the request was sent from was bps_ky@yahoo.com

Just trying to hlep... because some email programs you have to DO something to send them, they're not sent automatically...

I've always gotten a quick response from them... even on weekends...
Maybe they took a holiday weekend off ?
