I was wondering if any body had heard of any issues with the programmer I have been using it for about a year on a 2006 , only thing I have noticed is that the turbo seem's to be overly sluggish if you have to take off from an intersection fairly quick it's currently set at 30% of the setting available with the speed limiter off and firm aggressive shift set to on.
no real trans tuning is the problem with bully dog. the sct offers custom tuning and custom tranny specific tuning. i run a 150+ hp tune and my truck shift pretty nice

Yea, I have the bully dog on my 06 and I like it, but it just shifts so hard.. I have never run mine on the firm shift.. I read that you only run it if you have a built tranny.. I just have mine on tow with stock shift now... And really I found that my truck shifted worse with the speed limiter off then on... One time I think it got stuck in a gear and the RPMs went really high..
I just hate how when you ask a question about a tuner EVERYONE on this whole damn site says SCT SCT SCT SCT SCT CUSSTTTOMMM TUUNNESS!! We aready know!!!
with the sct you can contact sct or pretty much any vendor for help they all are pretty knowldgeable. with bully dog who knows. might try to update it see if that helps

I've been experimenting with different settings The stock only gave me around 16.5 average mpg on the computer actual the other day when I filled up was 17.8 mpg set it this afternoon on the way home to 50% smooth shift speed limiter off, this setting averaged about 20 mpg.
what size tires are you running and what size rims?? this can make a huge difference. mpgs like that would suggest there is alot of timing in what ever tune you are running

I agree w/ you all people do on here say SCT,SCT,SCT all day long..I have had no help from any web site I go to when it comes to SCT..Also I have a Diablo Sport Preditor but it has it's up's and downs..I am going to get a Superchip when I go on leave from Iraq the place I get my fuel add say it is the best one right now..But my friend has a bullydawg and has now problem with it and he loves it..
chips/tuners 101
for the powerstroke there are a few different engines and they differ in response to tuning. here is a general break down.
7.3 powerstroke
dp tuner (not diablo predetor)
tony wildman.
6.0 powerstroke
sct
spartan phalanx (this tuner has not been fully released but had alot of possibilities for the 6.0)
6.4 powerstroke
spartan
sct (they have made leaps and bounds with tuning on these trucks but are behind spartan in this category)
it is not just this site that reccomends the sct. it is every powerstroke 6.0 forum. maybe there is a reason. i would bet that if you used a sct with custom tunes you would be like most and want to sell your current tuner. what exactly are you having trouble finding out about the sct any ways george1313?

Everyone swings on there nut's..Well happy for y'all..I was look'n for one for my 04 F-250 6.0 and they are not broke'n that way..I am going w/ the Superchip..I am not play'n the SCT game..I know that they make one for my truck and don't have to play games to find one..

i had a superchip, it was great on the tranny but no power compared to the bully dog pmt which i now have. i love the bully dog pmt because of the shift on the fly. my 18yr old daughter drives my truck and it takes 2 seconds to put the proammer back to stock and pull it out. plus when towing just a few taps and your in the tow mode. but i will say the bully dog feels like its going to drop your tranny no matter what. i have had it stuck in a gear before like someone else had said and then slams into the next gear!! OUCH!! i can not beleive i still have a tranny actually. i myself am looking into, no i am getting an sct this week or next and can not wait to download some custom tunes. just dont know who to go with RCD or innovative, any suggestions?

I guess I don't see the games sct plays. They have three current tuners. The sct x3, live wire and the new xtr. All are custom tuneable and they will work with all ob2 vehicles 99+. Seems simple to me. The custom tunes you add are specific to the vehicle. Basically I can use my sct tuner to tune my truck if I wish or set my truck to stock and tune my 06 mustang. I would need 2 tuners to tune both at the same time but it is nice to be able to keep the tuner and use it on a different truck or car later if I wish. As far as tuning goes bts (brians truck shop) has the cheapest tunes with a lot of good feedback. Eric at innovative by far has the best feedback. Eric I think has some of the hotter tunes. I like the rcd guys and when I have talked to them they were very helpful and had a lot of insight. They have some killer trucks in the truck pulling world and do a lot with tuning. I wouldn't hesitate going with any of the three.

I believe that originally sct originally stood for superchips custom tuning. Good luck with the super chips.

one nice thing about the sct is that if your daughter is driving the truck you can set the speed limiter as low as 60mph to keep her from speeding.
