Could Tuner Cause This?

Hi-The dealer just had to replace the fuel injection control module on my truck (luckily under emissions control warranty). It was throwing multiple codes. Would running a mild tune place stress on this component? I'm thinking not, but want to make sure before I reprogram it back from stock to performance tow on my Flashpaq. The first time I got a code I went back to stock, but it kept getting worse. By the time I took it in, it had 11 codes (each cylinder, the control module and two related to the fuel level sensor).

thanks,

dave

the tuner is very unlikely to have caused the issue. it is known that the ficms have weak solder joints and are likely to fail. i would not put the blame on the tuner for that

I believe that the FICM doesn't like low voltage and that can shorten its life, maybe someone could confirm that. Don't think a tuner will lower the voltage but you may want to keep an eye on the voltage in case there's an issue in the charging system.

Thanks-I'll keep an eye on the voltage. I have had the tuner installed for over 4 years with no issues until now.
