Custom 5in. or 6in. Exhaust system....

I'm building my own exhaust system because I really can't see spending $1200 for a system w/ kinks and turns in it that will not need to be there later on after the lift. So if anyone is interested and wants to do there own I figured I'd start a thread to show how I was going to accomplish this task.

CAGperformance.com ~1-(877)-529-1935~ has Down pipes for anything. I have an 05' so thats what I got. It was a 4in. DP for $90... Also they can get you the couplers that go from 4in to 5in. and 5in. to 6in. or if you want 4in. - 6in... Ask for Chris. Really helpful.

If your putting out 450-550hp then the 5in. is your max they say. And 6in. is fine for OVER 550HP. Do it before and you'll be disapointed because you loss ALOT is all he said (bottom end). 5in. will do for up to 750hp I think I read some where before.

Then for all the stright pipes and 45* or 90* you'll need you can call your own local BIG RIG truck shop or you can call mine. 410-848-9167. Ask for Buck or Kel Gross...

Not sure on the pricing yet but I'm headed up before this weekend. The guys there seem really excited to be able to help out. Mine is going to be a dual set-up with 2 5in. pipes coming out in front of the dually tires on my truck. 6in. tips. All stright piped w/o cat and muff.

Anyhow thats it for now. I'll keep on posting about the progress and chime in with any questions or ideas.

Alex

Just don't go to crazy on diameter. If you like the look, fine. But for performance, there are very few guys here that can actually justify over 4" pipes. You are MUCH better off focusing on impediments, like muffler/cat's. That is your enemy (flow restrictions). An open 4" pipe could run 750RWHP no problem.

At this point I'm just running into PROBLEMS with finding people confident enough to actually get, bend and install a set of five inch pipe. And I'm kinda anxious to get a set on my truck. I may just go with the MBRP 4in. duals.... turbo back.

Irritating
