This is probably the best opinion out of all the ones that I read. If you have a 05 it should have the updated head bolts installed. The common misconception about heads blowing is that its the root cause is 99% of the time from the EGR cooler. Its not totally the studs by themself, the heads are weak on these engines cause of the EGR cooler. Once it starts leaking you will introduce coolant into your intake manifold then BAM! you lift your heads. We all know that you cant compress a liquid. To answer your question I would verify if you have the updated head bolts first, and bypass your EGR cooler. Even if you dont run a high HP tune those EGR coolers are crap. Its really easy to bypass them. Does take some time thou. You are not going to be running huge amounts of power with just a sct. You might be able to get away with stock studs, MAYBE. But when you start changing the turbo and injectors for moster power then YES you will need studs. Especially if you do a dual fuel application. I know guys who run over 500 WHP and they are running stock studs. Its really a insurance kind of deal. This is just my opinion, remember opinions are like assholes every body has them.
