Downloading tunes

My tuner sent me a new tune for my Xcal 2. My question is how do I get it in there? What driver or other downloads do I need to download from Sct Flash.com The file ends in ll3 if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance
Jay

Re: Downloading tunes

Software is Liveload 3:
http://www.sctflash.com/software/LiveLoadInstall.exe

Instructions are here:
http://www.sctflash.com/software/Usi...ive%20Load.pdf

Or you can simply go to the SCT website, choose Support from the top menu, then downloads and drivers, and lastly look for the LiveLoad 3 section.

b safe and return to stock before you upgrade your sct version....
(don't worry about it if just upgrading your truck, but the sct itself)

Re: Downloading tunes

Agreed, I always recommend returning to stock before uploading new programs.

As far as firmware is concerned, you won't be able to updgrade unless returned to stock.

A few tips for a successful upgrade are:

-Don't use a USB hub. If you have to, make sure it's powered.

-Don't use a USB port that's attached to the monitor. If the screen saver comes on it could shut the port down.

-Don't upgrade your firmware on a laptop running on battery.

Re: Downloading tunes

Try to reconnect it to a different port after restarting the computer. Sounds like its having trouble communicating with the unit, so check your cabling first. Reinstall the program after a complete uninstallation if that doesn't work

Re: Downloading tunes

Ok, here's what you need to do.

Go to device manager and look for any devices with a yellow question mark.

If you see any, you have a problem. If you find a USB Serial Device or unknown device, with the Xcal2 plugged in, then right click it and choose update driver or just remove it. If you remove it, you will need to unplug the Xcal2 and then plug it back in so it can be found again.

Go through the steps until you find the option to choose your own device location. Choose c:\Program Files\SCT\LiveLoad

It should then prompt you for the driver two times. Follow the same instructions twice.

That should get you going.
