DPPI or BANKS

I am going to install an after market exhaust from the cat back.
It will either be the DPPI or the Banks Monster.
I am leaning towards the Banks because it has the hangers, it
will fit all existing brackets. I am not familiar with the DPPI
product . Thanks, Tincan

Re: DPPI or BANKS

Dppi seems nice but if you are going cat-back go with the Banks if it is cheaper.

Re: DPPI or BANKS

Make sure you're comparing Apples to Apples. The Banks systems are T-4xx grade S.S., so you would need to compare the pricing of the T-409 DPPI systems (the T-304 is the most expensive).

DPPIs kit fits and sounds great! There are a number of members on the board that have and LOVE it.

Re: DPPI or BANKS

I have the DPPI cat-back system in aluminized on my truck. It fit right up with no problem. You will have far more trouble getting the old system off than putting the DPPI system on. (Get your hands on a sawzall, it makes the removal MUCH easier.) The hangars supplied with the DPPI system fit into the factory frame hangars, so there's no problem there. I had a Banks system on a Chevy truck I owned and it was a pain to install, ended up taking it to a muffler shop and paying them to finish the job. Swore I wouldn't use Banks again and never have.

Just my $.02

Re: DPPI or BANKS

Tincan,

The engine noise level is very low except when you wail on the go pedal then it sounds like a big block gasser with a mild cam, the noise you'll hear is the turbo. The whistle is very pronounced and I and most folks love it. If you are concerned about the whislte you can reinstall the cat on a turbo back system or get the cat back system that leaves the cat in place, it really quiets the turbo whistle etc. Call us at 866-455-7788 if you wnat and we'll try to help you in any way we can.

P.S. This is a great way to start the day members. I really appreciate the positive posts you folks made, we strive to do our best and we thank you all for supporting us too!!!

Re: DPPI or BANKS

How does your system sound turbo back minus the cat and muffler? I am a straitpipe junkie and will probably do it to my next truck, which the dealer is looking for. Chris

Re: DPPI or BANKS

The Banks system is a great choice and fits and sounds great. I have a Banks system on my truck and really like it. Another option if you want to upgrade to T-304 SS system is the Silverline. Here is some information about these systems http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/exhaust
