Dyno readings

Just a question, maybe someone here can answer...I hope.

If you have two identical trucks, 1 with say...3:55 rear gears, and the other with say...4:56 gears. Which truck makes the most torque on the dyno???
If they have the same output.....why??
Just curious, because I know if our trucks were identical in every way, and your truck has 315 tires on it, and mine has 265's...I will pull away from you because my truck would be "geared" lower.
Now tell me what the difference is if everything else is the same.

Re: Dyno readings

Don't get scientific on us. This is a truck forum.

It's kinda like the question: Why does an offroad truck tire only need 10psi and a bycycle tire need 50psi?

Re: Dyno readings

Gear makes zero difference in dyno reading. Period.

As far as acceleration the numerically higher geared truck should jump off the line quicker. The larger the tire the numerically lower the final drive ratio becomes, so a truck with smaller tires would have an advantage.
