edge evolution - warranties

Ok after reading the posts , Im going on a trip to pick up a 30' trailer and going through some BIG moutains and woundering if i should turn off the chip and just run stock . ive never had any trouble with my 04 6.0 but this the first big tow job its done through big moutains . It has 33.900 miles and i dont run it hard at all. the boost is not big on tow mode but wanted to see what you all think .

Re: edge evolution - warranties

I have trailered a 31' enclosed snowmobile trailer using an 04 Excursion with the Edge Juice and it ran so well through Idaho that I went out and bought a 6L diesel for myself. I wasn't totally pleased with the stock power towing that same trailer, so I put a simple power adder (Quadzilla XZT) and it pulled the trailer amazingly well through the Sierra Nevadas of California. The great thing about the Evolution is that you can run it stock, with a tranny tune only, or with a variety of other power levels. If I were you and you have some extra time, try pulling the trailer stock, then with the tranny tune, and then with some more power and you'll be really impressed with the power that the truck has to tow! Let us know if you do it. If not, sell me your Evolution because I hear its the best Edge product for tuning the transmission!

Re: edge evolution - warranties

IM GOING TO TRY BOTH STOCK SETTING AND TOW DURING THE TRIP. EVEN IF I ONLY USE THE STOCK SETTING THE ADDED MONITERING IS ALLWAYS A PLUS.

Ditto. The extra power feels great, believe me. However, I also enjoy seeing my truck in the driveway, not in the shop. I just bought my 04, and, while I think its def. not as fast as my 2003 was chipped, the only mod's I'm doing to this one is an exhaust (if that).
