Edge Insight Readings

Hooked it up yesterday to my 2004 6.0. After a good 20 minutes on the highway Engine oil temparature was reading 188, never higher, Transmission Temp was 147, never higher. Installing the EGT today, but is it normal for these components to run this cool?

my tranny temp is right there. pulling my trailer i have seem 158 so far. but it is still cool here in new england.

when not under load, 188-190 on diesel EOT is where i am. ECT (engine coolant temp) should be monitored as well. where are you there ? i should think that if diesel EOT is in the 188 range, your coolant temp should be around 182-185 in a perfect world.

Good Morning,

The Edge came up with Boost, ECT, Trans Temp, and EGT (not available yet, installing this afternoon). How would I get Engine Oil up on the display. I didn't see it scrolling through the pages.

it is called "diesel EOT", and i think it was either under the FORD specific PID (or SID, can't remember which) heading or one of the other groupings. it is there, though. my main screen, custom #1, is diesel EOT, ECT, trans temp, and EGT.

then i have a 2 bar display #2 as just ECT, diesel EOT.

for towing, # 3 is a six function display, showing diesel EOT, ECT, boost, load, tranny temp, and EGT.

my #4 is a four function showing speed, rpm, boost, and cmd EGR %

If I remember, there are two EGT choices you can make in settings. I believe the one you want is under the Temperature PID and not under the Ford Specific section

I haven't played with the Fuel Economy settings on my Insight but is it possible that you have chosen Fuel Flow or GPH or something like that instead of MPG?...just a stab in the dark

from what I understand, the MPG function is just an extension of the overhead display. If your truck doesn't have the PID for it, then you won't be able to utilize it.

It's not a tuner, just a digital gauge package. So to answer your question, no. You need a custom tuned SCT to do that.

I called edge about the MPG option and they told me It didn’t work with the fords, my roof display went out in my truck.
Also do you guys get high ECT / EOT? First time towing with Edge setup this weekend and my ECT temp would clime easily >215 but my stock gauge never moved from normal? Trailer is 6000 + but wasn’t pushing anything 55 up hills?
