Guys, FYI, I am told by Edge customer service the wireless backup camera is no longer planned to be implemented in the A2. If you are buying it for that you will be dissapointed.
Near as I can tell the A2 is the controller for the Edge Platinum and only offers GPS and touch screen menu over the Attitude. For that money aprox $800 over the Attitude it may be more worth while to buy a Garmin or TOMTOM gps unit. In fact I have seen a nice Garmin unit new for around $400 bucks. That way at least your GPS is supported by a manufacturer that focuses on GPS?
Don't get me wrong I like the looks of the unit and for a few hundred more I would consider it, but not for $800.

We have sent out over 85 of the A2's, folks like them. The back up camera not being available is new info to me. I speak with the sales manager weekly and haven't heard anything about that. We do currently have a special on the A2's, if you have an Attitude that you want to trade in we have a rebate of $125.00 for the old Attitude that we will drop into the price of the A2 for you.

Mark,
I was interested in trying to find out what wireless protocol they use between the A2 and the camera and they told me the current units do not have wireless built in. If they were to implement some form of wireless in the future it would require a hardware upgrade as I remember it. I have the email at home from their support team. Could you verify that with your contact?
Thanks
Dennis

HP wise there isn't a comparision from what folks on the site say, the Edge makes more by far! Feature to feature the PDA has some extra stuff, but for most folks it's nothing you'll use more than once, after the "new" wears off you don't mes with it. The Platinum with the trubo timer and all is the way to go. Make a post here and ask the folks that have a Banks, that'll get you the best info!

For what its worth, you will find a bunch of people who claim Edge products eat trannys. Alot of the info comes from the old Edge Juice and some from the new Platinum.
While I think this data is somewhat correct, I am also not sure given the extensible programming options within the Edge that people have them configured properly. From what I have heard in regards to the complaints I am not sure people have set the proper defueling options during shifting and have the learning feature set right.
That being said I am dissapointed that Edge has apparently not produced some type of app-note on best practices for transmission configuration. I am also surprised at the amount of infomation/misinformation there is out on the Edge products. If a few of the edge guys were to read/respond to really only the top 2-3 powerstroke focused forums I think they could eliminate the issues and missinformation.
Take my opinion for what its worth, I have not bought anything yet for my 6.0. I have analysis paralysis and can not decide between Platinum with Attitude/A2 or SCT at this point. I did run my 7.3 on an Evolution programmer and did not like the shifting on it at all untill I put the Sonnax/Tricumulator in. Again had they just suggested that modification to me I would have been happy as a clam from the very start. Up to that point though I hated the Evolution shifting.
I signed up for their beta program and would love to be chosen to work with these units to see if I could get some more reliability out of the configuration.

Shelby, I'm having the same dliemma as to buy the SCT, or Edge Platinum combo. I've heard both good and bad about Edge Products. I haven't really heard anything bad about SCT. I really like the fact that with the Attitude I don't have to buy seperate gauges, and remove my grab handle to install a pod. But, I guess I'll keep reading and decide later.
