EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

Does anyone have the hot juice code from edge for the Juice Platinum???? I installed mine the other day, the truck is slower, there is less smoke, and the exhaust note, and turbo whistle is waaaay quieter!!! ***! This is supposed to be an upgrade, now I call EDGE, and they want $100 for the hot code?!?! I like the extra features, but the power sucks, it doesn't hit as hard as before, and just feels weak. Someone post the hot code, so we can get back to where we were before the "upgrade"!!!

Re: EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

CruJones,

If you upgraded to the HOT Juice by getting the HOT code from Edge and have less power then you have a truck or module problem. The Hot code on mine is significantly stronger. Call Edge 888-360-3343.

Re: EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

I haven't upgraded to "hot juice" yet. I am just pissed that they want $100 to get to the same level as I was at with the old Juice/attitude combo!

The website is wrong. You will still have 115hp with the standard Platinum. You'll get 130+ with the HOT version.

Correct, if the truck is making less power now than with the original Juice/Attitude, something is wrong. Check all of the connections again and if needed, contact your dealer or Edge Tech Support.

I agree with you 100%.I have been saying the same thing since i bought the platinum. My original juice/attitude was more powerful than the new module.

Re: EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

here is what edge told me.... i bought a regular edge juice att. it was a ejf-1000 it was for 2004 models. it messed up about 5 months ago , i call edge and they sent me a new one in the box,it was ejf -2000 and i sent my old back. i installed the new one my truck did not preform the same ,it had alot less power. level 5 on the new one was about like level 3 on the old one. so i called edge back and told the teck my problem. the tech said the two different models where the same hp levels . the reason for the model change was the 1000 would not work on the 2005. the 2000 would work on the 04 & 05's. i told them i was not happy with the new box the tech put me through to an engineer he told me that the ejf-2000 was not as aggressive as the 1000 and it would not preform the same ,they reduced the power becauce of so many tranny problems.any way i ask him about the new platinum and he said it was the same program as the 2000 so it would not have the power as the 1000. he said you could upgrade it the hot juice it would have the same power as the 1000. anyway they had some of the old ejf-1000 they sent me another new one . bottom line is the 04 ejf-1000 is the most powerful, and it has the same power as the hot juice. according to edge.

Re: EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

I can tell you straight up, that the new platinum is not as powerful as the old chip. I spoke to Edge, and they say the same thing about toning down the power due to the trans issues. I broke down and popped for the "hot" option. The exhaust note and turbo whistle have gotten louder, and it's closer to where the old juice/attitude was performance wise, but not the same hit when the turbo comes on, also my trans shifts weird. I need to mess around with the settings, but it feels almost like a stick shift the way the truck seems to accelerate, then stop, shift then accelerate again, instead of a smooth transition. Oh well, I guess it's not that bad. Anyone want to see if the code can work on more than one truck??? Hit me up PM, and I will give it to ya.

From my dyno testing this is exactly what I am seeing. I was dissappointed when I discovered that the Juice for all years (EJF-2000) was substantially less powerful than the original juice (EJF-1000). The injector pulse width was reduced. The Platinum is at the same power level as the (EJF-2000). The "hot" version makes the same power as the original juice which has always been one of the most powerful units out there but someone with the original juice wont see any more power with a "Hot" Platinum.

Wow, I guess we know how they "fixed" their tranny problems. Take power away, and charge more if you want the extra power. That sucks! I would be very angry. My old Edge, the 1000 made wicked power, but couldn't put it to the ground. I guess now you get mediocre power, but atleast your tranny holds together, well maybe. Can someone who is running one tell me if their are two or three plugs at the PCM? I am really dissapointed if the above senario is the case for the platinum! Re: EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

CruJones,

You need to look at modifiying your trans controls, sounds like you have it defueling waaay too much between gears to me from your description etc.

Re: EDGE Platinum HOT JUICE CODE???

As Mark @DPPI stated you probably have to much defuel.
I`m running 0% defuel,firm all shifts,and firmness changes w/HP,
but I also don`t run above level 3.
This is my opinion, I really don`t think the tranny will hold up very well to the higher levels 5&6 unless you internally beef-up the trans.
The Platinum trans. adjustments work very good and the shifting is much better than it was after Ford did this TowHaul recall/reflash 23 months ago.

Sounds like to me that the program must be designed to defuel a little between shifts, a lot easier on the transmission but most are pretty smooth, they must have exagerated it in the programing to stay away from the transmission issues they had been having with the old Juice/Attitudes. Just my thoughts, I would leave it as is if you can live with it, makes the transmissions last a lot longer because it applies the power only once the transmission has completley changed gears.
