Exhaust

Ok so i have the edge chip on my 06 6.0L and i absolutley love it but now im lookin to cool things down a bit. Im pretty much decided on the intake but the exhuast i cant figure out. Im lookin at the 5in turbo back MBRP without a cat but i think that there wont be enough back pressure in the system to keep things fast. So now im looking at a 4in cat back from mbrp or a 4in turbo back and i cant make up my mind. Any of you what system seems to perform the best on my truck?

What will work best for you is a 3.5" downpipe and 4" back system. You can choose to keep the CAT or remove it.

Feel free to call, PM, or send email.

You'll have no problems with backpressure at all. You could run just a downpipe w/ no exhaust and the truck would run fine. Backpressure is read pre-turbo.

If you choose a 5" exhaust, MBRP only has Aluminized available. Magnaflow does make a 5" stainless, which is very popular.

You'll notice no gain in power with a 5", only appearance. So either the 4" or 5" will get the job done.

Please give us a call if you have any questions.

I suggest going with the MBRP S6206 series. This will allow you to keep your cat or delete it. If you want to delete it, you will need the cat delete pipe (FAL414 or FS9414). Let me know if I can help with anything.

What these three site supporters has told is true with one caveat - If you remove the CC, you no longer have a truck legal to operate anywhere but a farm, ranch, other private property, race track or sled pull event. Removal or tampering with an emissions device is a violation of Federal law, and while enforcement is non-existent at this time, it's still illegal. One other up-side is that you could then use off-road fuel, as the vehicle would not see a street, road or highway, and you don't need to pay those taxes.

OH, yeah - intake. Unless you're planning upgrade to the turbo & injectors, the stock system is the best balance of price / performance / protection available. Save the money & get some gauges.
