KEV250,

Follow this link to Magnaflow's site, scroll down the page to the Ford F250/350 section. Once there you can download a video and sound clip to hear what they have to offer. JS.

Re: exhaust turbo whistle

If you have a 2003, check out this VIDEO CLIP. This is an MBRP "Cool Duals" setup on a 2003 truck...with the Catalytic Converter removed.

If you have a 2004, the whistle will not be as loud due to changes that Ford made to the turbine side of the turbo...but it still sounds good.

Of course, if you leave the Catalytic Converter in, the turbo will not be as loud either.

Check out the MBRP systems (single and dual tailpipe) HERE.

Re: exhaust turbo whistle

KEV250,
Last week I installed the MBRP Stainless Duels that I bought from DPPI and killed the cat. If you want your truck to sound like a turbine engine at idle...here you go. I may put the cat back on just to see the difference (less whistle). The rumble part is really nice but is only prevalent when you get-on-it.

Re: exhaust turbo whistle

Mikey,

Whats the difference between the sound of an 03 vs 04, I should probably know this but I don't? Did ford change something in the turbo? I know people can hear me coming for miles But I wasn't sure if it was my ground hawgs or the turbo.

sorry about the hijack

Re: exhaust turbo whistle

They added some blades in the 04 turbo to quiet it down some. I guess some were complaining

exhaust

I have a 99 powerstroke and was also wondering how to make it whistle without sticking a lot of money into it. Would pulling the muffler and/or cat off and just running a pipe back work?

Stick with the MBRP Exhuast with muffler and cat delete/test pipes. The delete pipes are fairly cheep and if u dont like i whistle just bolt the cat back in. But i love it.

I wanted the whistle too, the only way is no cat or 03 turbo swap. I have a mbrp 4" cat back and it sounds almost stock. When i start it i can here a rumble and if i floor it i can here it. I want to keep my 100k warranty so im not doing turbo back and im not deleting anything, i did pick up some extra mpg though.

Yea, I have an '03 with magnaflow turbo back 4" duals and my turbo SCREAMS!! I noticed a huge difference when going from my old cat-back single to turbo-back duals. However, the '03 turbo is known to be louder than those of later years. I am extremely happy with the magnaflow performance 4" dual exhaust system. It adds the look, the scream, and the low rumble I was looking for. Anyway..for screaming turbo, the turbo back exhaust is mandatory, and the dual pipes help amplify the sound.

I have an 04, but with stock exhaust I can hear the turbo really well through the cab. However I'd like to have the turbine sounding idle as well. To do this the best way seems to be a cat and muffler delete...I'm just curious, will running a straight pipe cause any damage in the long or short term?
