Yes it is! The fass or Airdog is an excellent choice. They will protect those expensive injectors, fuel pump, remove air, water, and improve driveability. The Airdog has been on sale for $529. One other advantage, the factory fuel filters will last longer. A GOOD by pass oil filtration unit,i.e. fs2500, or oil guard combined with synthetic oil is great protection for the 6.0.

The AirDog unit will benifit a stock to mild truck, whereas the FASS unit benifits a mild to wild truck. Both have great features but the end use is really key to getting you the right unit.

At the moment my truck is stock, but I am in the process of adding mods is it ok to go ahead and add the system, and does it replace the existing rail pump and stock filter housing. The only thing done at the moment is dual Silverline 4" exhaust, straight from Turbo back. I have a SCT custom tunes coming. I have heard so much good things about these FASS systems that I wanted more thoughts and opinions before I done it. Thanks for all the replies, they are greatly appreciated!!

I'd recommend the FASS 150/180, which replaces the factory pump. It's defintely an ugprade you can do now, which you can take advantage of more later as you uprgrade the truck.

Feel free to give us a call, email, or PM. We can answer any questions and help you choose the right version for your truck.

I too am interested in one of these two systems. I have a 2007 6.0 and drained my factory water / fuel seperator the other day and noticed a white grease susbstance come out. So this has really made me interested in one of these systems.

Just the same, I might add a tuner and exhaust down the road.

fuel reg. return system

I would invest in a fuel reg. return system before the fass or airdog, as this will stop the deadhead factory system. I have both on mine.

I think this is a much better option. If you aren't swapping to larger injectors or turbo then the FASS isn't for you. The AirDog and a RR system are best on a stock-to-mild truck. A FASS and RR system are best on a mild-to-wild truck.

Newbie Question(s)

Am new to th diesel world and will be 5th wheeling for the next few years (reTired 05/08). Will be installing and tweaking my current ride for performance and looks as time and money permit.

Have been researching to add to my knowledge base and ran across some terms.

What is the definiton for "stock-to-mild" and
"mild-to-stock" ?

Some of the fuel systems use a helper pump, rather than replacing the stocker. That's why you see the rating's for power, like stock to mild, etc. I personally would replace the factory pump and not add all the coplexity of a helper system.
